Fredrick Cohen Sacramento lawyer charged with fraud, defamation, infliction of emotional distress and deprivation of parental rights in federal lawsuit filed in United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. Cohen is a Sacramento County Superior Court sworn temporary judge and officer of the Sacramento County Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee. The claims against Cohen were never disproven and the lawsuit never heard on the merits. United States District Court Magistrate Judge Dale A. Drozd dismissed the case on the grounds that Frederick Cohen in his role as child's counsel did not act under color of state law. Drozd declined to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over the state law claims for intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, fraud and defamation of character.
