PROCLAMATION No. 797/2013

A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE NILE BASIN COOPERATIVE FRAM EWORK AGREEM ENT

WHEREAS, Ethiopia is one of the signatories to the Nile Basin Cooperative Framework Agreement signed in Entebbe, on the 14th day of May, 2010;

WHEREAS, the House of Peoples' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified said Agreement at its session held on the 13th day of June, 2013;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55( I) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the "Nile Basin Cooperative Framework Agreement Ratification Proclamation No. 797/2013".

2. Ratification of the Agreement

The Nile Basin Cooperative Framework Agreement signed in Entebbe, on the 14th day of May, 20 lOis hereby ratified.

3. Ppwer of the Ministry of Water and Energy

The Ministry of Water and Energy is hereby empowered ~o undertake, in cooperation with the concerned government organs, all acts. necessary for the implementation of the Agreement.

4. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall enter into force on the date of publication in the Federal Negarit
