    Wuereas by the Government Notice No. 1588_ published in the Official Gazette No. 49 of 18th* August, 1960, the Minister of Education has declaredunder section 33 (g) (6) of the Education (Lagos)Ordinance No. 56 of 1958, that the lands hereindescribed are required by the Government of theFederation for educational purposes.

    Notice is hereby given that the following landsituated at Abule-Nla, Ebute Metta West, Lagos, inthat part of the Federation of Nigeria which iscomprised in the Federal Territory of Lagos, theboundaries ofwhich are herein described are requiredby the Governor-General for public purposesabsolutely and in particular for extending a school,

    REGISTRATION OF ENTITLEDCHILDREN

    In exercise of the powers conferred by the Educa-tion (Lagos) Ordinance, 1957 the Minister ofEducation has authorised that Mr E. J. Moses,Chief Education Officer shall carry out the registra-tion, of children on the 28th, 29th and 30th August,

    2. Registration will take place at 77 centres. Alist of centres and details of arrangement for appealsand supplementary registration will be publishedin the press.

    3. Only those children will be enrolled

    (2) who on 31st December, 1961 shall have- completed their fifth year (.e., are aged 60 months)and who have not yet completed their sixthyear (t.e., are aged less than 72 months)

    (6) whose parents are genuinely resident withinthe municipality of Lagos.

    Parents are advised that children who do notsatisfythese. conditions cannot be offered places in amaintained primary school.

    4. It is further required that each child shall beaccompanied to the registration centre by one orother parent or by a legal guardian and thesatisfac-tory evidence of the child’s age can be produced.A Birth Certificate in official form is preferred toany other evidence of age.

    5. Registration officers will be empowered toreject any child who may appear to be younger orolder than the specified age.

    The Western Region Tenders Board invitesTenders for the supply andinstallation of cold roomequipment in the Dining Hall Block of the LocalGovernmentPolice College, Eleiyele, Ibadan.

    ‘The work shall consist of :-—

    (1) The design, supply and installation of arefrigeration equipment for a cold room? ofinternal dimensions 8’ 6” by 6’ 6” by 8’ insulated toan internal capacity of about 350 cubic feet tooperate at a temperature of approximately 36°F.

    (2) The design, supply and installation of the’internal structures of the cold room to inchideracks, hooks, trays and special compartmentswith suitable doors and any other instrumentsthat may be necessary for storing fish, meat,vegetables, cream, cheese, milk, etc., in the coldroom.

    Full Specifications for the following and any otheritems, that the contractors may deem necessary mustbe included.

    (a) Condensing Units(6) Evaporators

    (c) Insulations

    (d) Doors(e) Temperature ranges of the cold room

    ‘relative to specified-ambient temperatures.

    (f) Any suitable alternatives.

    TENDER -

    1. Tenders are invited for the supply and deliveryto site of prefabricated buildings for the storage of °cotton seed cotton growing areas in NorthernNigeria. A schedule giving details of sites may beobtained on request from Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Agriculture, Kaduna.

    2. Two sizes of stores, capable of taking 50 and100 tons of seed are required. Dimensions of 50ten stores should be approximately 25 feet span by |15 feet long by 10 feet high tothe eaves. Dimensionsof 100 ton stores should be 25 feet span by 30 feetlong by 10 feet high to the eaves. A total of thirty-five 50 ton stores and twenty-five 100 ton stores isrequired.

    3. Stores should be of steel construction onconcrete foundations and should be completely cladin 24 gauge galvanised corrugated ironsheets.

    4. No windows are required but each store shouldhave a sliding door in one end gable frame. Thisshould form an opening 8 feet wide by 8 to 9 feethigh,steel framed and with overhead runner bar andwheels.

    5. Tenders should state contract prices for thetotal quantities required delivered on site and theunit price.

    6. Tenders marked “Cotton Seed Stores” shouldbe submitted in sealed envelopes to the Secretary,Northern Region ‘Tenders Board, Ministry ofFinance, Kaduna, to reach him not later than 31stAugust, 1961.

    7. They should include a statement of the earliestdate of. supply and the time required to completedelivery ofall the stores.

    8. The lowest, or any, tender will not necessarilybe accepted.
