L HOUSE

The project area is locat-ed in Padova, an important northern Italian city, which hosts one the oldest univer-sities in the world. The as-signment was to design an L shaped house for one fami-ly, placed in a corner lot of a new block. The idea was to build the structure along the edge of the street, in order to gain room for a fairly large yard. The de-sign is characterised by the use of concrete walls for the section bordering with the streets, and glass doors for the ones facing the garden.

VENICIAN SOCIAL HOUSING

The site of interest is a par-tially disused industrial port area in need of re genera-tion, it rises on the limit of Venice’s historic center. The project includes a total re-design of a part of the area (Sestiere Dorsoduro), in-serting students’ accomoda-tions in collective buildings, together with the creation of utilities and facilities for the University. The idea of the project is to create a com-plex of buildings and small recreational centers, match-ing with the Venician urban texture, and using modern materials and concepts.

A CHAPEL FOR CIVIDALE

Cividale del Friuli is a small town established by the Ro-mans, located in the north east of Italy. Our mission was to design a small chap-el (dim. 9 x 13 x 8) in the square near the Duomo in order to observe the spatial relations between the Du-omo and the square itself, and the main architectural elements: volume, natural brightness, minimal func-tions, materials.

The project consisted in design-ing a pavilion inside the 2015 Expo area in Milan. The pavilion is meant to contain the exhibi-tion of the works and projects of Forma Fantasma (forma=shape; fantasma=ghost) studio. It is com-posed of eleven square modules (3x3m), anticipated by a ramp (6m). the structure is wooden just like the floors, the walls are built using a semi-transparent fireproof canvas, this way the light has the task to create shadow effects with the greenery (se parli del colore metti with the color green, io im-magino che invece parli del verde come vegetazione, in quel caso o greenery o vegetation), and del-icate shining interactions with the diplayed objects. some modules are open and mediate with the surrounding vegetation.

RETHINKING IL TEATRO DEL MONDO

The International workshop organ-ised by IUAV university proposes many themes. In this case we were asked to design a floating theatre inspired by Aldo Rossi’s Teatro del Mondo (theatre of the world). The idea was that of using a met-al structure shielded by drapings which can be arranged in differ-ent ways, in order to create a flu-id space in constant relation with Venice’s Grand Canal.

WINE SHOP (Valencia)

La Cueva del Cristo is a cave located in the historic center of Requena, a town of 20.000 people in the wine region, north of Valen-cia (Spain). It was used as a tavern in the middle ages, and it was subject to many variatons during the cen-turies. The project includes the renovation of the shop facing the street, and of the cave itself. The idea was to cut the space vertically with a cor-ten sheet, which con-tains decor elements and a new staircase connecting the two levels.

REQUENA’S WINERY

The region of Requena is one of the most important wine-producing areas in Spain. The project aims at creating a winery including a hotel and a restaurant for tourists. The site is on a slope and the project develops along it, characterized by a low-pro-file and in harmony with the hilly landscape. Part of the building is semi hypogeal. The roof is like a square overlooking the landscape.
