Felicitation Ceremony (August 8)

Principal M’m announced the most awaited results of the elections held on August 3 for the

post of junior head boy and junior head girl. Shreya Roy Choudhary (XIB) and Pranav Upadhyaya

(XIA) were elected as junior

head girl and junior head

boy by winning the

maximum number of

votes. Previous session’s

junior head boy Varun

Tariyal and junior head girl

V. Anusha were elevated to

the position of head boy

and head girl of the school.

All the four school

representatives were

felicitated with a bouquet

and a sash each. The newly elected thanked students for their support. They promised to work

wholeheartedly and fulfill their responsibilities. House Captains and Prefects of each of the four

Houses were also announced. The ceremony ended with national anthem.

Eid Celebrations (August 8)

Eid-Ul-Adha was

celebrated by

students of class IXA

during the assembly

that began with usual

prayer, thought

explanation and news

headlines.

‘Eid Samjhungi’ –

a soul-stirring poem recited by Rhea Gupta and Karishma Bisht conveyed that every human

being must live happily with all their needs fulfilled. Bhoomi Tanwar informed that this festival

commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, who willingly agreed to sacrifice his son at the

command of God. The festival also coincides with the Haj pilgrimage in Mecca. The assembly

concluded with a melodious qawali “Bhar Do Jholi Meri Ya Mohammad” accompanied by Mrinali

Deworming Done (August 8)

With the aim to improve the

well-being of all children by

preventing them from chances

of intestinal parasitic worms,

administration of deworming

tablet Albendazole was done

successfully to 246 boys and 163

girls from classes I to X. After

lunch break, they were called in

groups and given the orange-flavoured tablet for chewing followed by intake of water. They

were asked to stay back for 10 minutes to ensure any side effects of the medicine, of which, no

cases were reported.

Van Mahotsav - Plantation Activity (August 9)

To develop sensitivity among

students about the

importance of trees and

forests in making

environment clean and pure,

Red Roses celebrated ‘Van

Mahotsav’ by conducting

plantation activity in the

month of August. The

occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Bidhuri (President –RWA, E-Block, Saket), President

of the school Trust Mr. S.K. Nayyar, Founder -Principal and Director Mrs. K. Nayyar.

70 students of classes VI-VIII, joined by members of the teaching staff, conducted plantation in

the E-block, Saket park with the help of RWA members and then in the premises of own school.

150 saplings of various trees and shrubs including Murraya koenigii (kadi patta),

Tabernaemontana divaricata (chandni), Saraca asoca (ashoka), Putranjiva

roxburghii (putranjiva), Pedilanthus tithymaloides, kalmegh, Nerium oleander (kaner), and

Ocimum (tulsi) and other ornamental saplings were planted. Students were motivated to grow

plants in their home and neighbourhood and to own the responsibility of taking care of these.

The activity was followed by making students of classes I-XII aware about the importance of

conserving trees through a video presentation and a poster making competition was held for

classes VI to VIII on ‘save trees’ .

Zonal Science Debate (August 9)

Khushi Agrawal (XIIA) and V. Anusha (XIA) stood first in the Zonal Science Debate on the topic

‘Smart phone in Education’ held at GGSSS, M.B. Road, Pushp Vihar. The students were prepared

by Mrs. Meenakshi Ahuja, HOD Science.

IH Social Science Quiz (August 9)

In online Social Science Quiz held for classes (IX-X), First position was shared by Piyush,

Vaibhav and Shishir of Jasmine House and Mahi, Adeitei and Kandarp Goel of Lotus House.

Mayank, Dhruv and Anya of Daisy House won a close second.

Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day (August 14)

Red Roses Public School

celebrated 73rd Independence

Day and the festival of Raksha

Bandhan with great zeal and

fervor. The assembly began by

invoking the blessings of

Almighty, following which the

young boys dressed as soldiers

sang ‘Vande Matram’ filling the

atmosphere with patriotism.

Hon’ble Principal ma’am hoisted

the national flag and addressed

the gathering. She highlighted

the recent achievements of our nation, the success of Chandrayaan – II and scrapping of Article

370. She also emphasized the importance of family and advised students to spend quality time

with their family instead of wasting it on social networking sites. She paid tribute to the unsung

heroes and the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and shed their blood fighting for

swaraj.

The cultural program began with a melodious song ‘koi aaye aur dekhe mere desh mein’ by

students of VI- VIII. Tiny tots from our Junior branch performed on a patriotic medley. Anurag

Bhatt of XB recited a poem 'Hai Naman Unko' to pay homage to the brave soldiers who face

bullets protecting the nation. Little roses from ‘NEEV’ presented a rhythmic dance on ‘Mera

Desh Badal Raha Hai’. Sakshi Tyagi (X) enlightened the audience on India’s past, present and the

problems of future which need to be tackled to become independent in the true sense. She was

blessed by the President of our school Trust for her enthusiasm and confidence.

Dhairya Aggarwal (VB) recited a poem on Raksha Bandhan accompanied by the enactment of

tying of rakhi by a sister to her brother showing the priceless relationship. A melodious song

'rakhi ka din aa hi gaya' was sung by the students of III to V. The finale of the celebration was

the dance on ‘Ae Watan

Mere Aabad Rahe Tu' by

seven students of VI to X

in which Kathak, Odissi

and Bharatnatyam

classical dance forms

were put together.

President Sir blessed the

students on this

occasion. The assembly

ended with the singing

of national anthem.

International Humanity Olympiad (August 5)

To ensure upliftment of individuals, families and society at large by enriching them with moral

and ethical values across the world, the Satyug Darshan Trust (Regd.), Faridabad conducts

"International Humanity Olympiad" in schools. One such online test was participated by 960

students of our school from classes V to XII.

Janamashtami (August 23) Janmashtami is the day when infant form of Krishna is worshipped. Krishna has been a charmer since childhood and known to win the hearts of everyone he meets. Students of classes I-V gathered in the Amphitheatre to celebrate Janmashtami. Sakshi Tyagi (XB), compered the program. Aditi (VIIIA) spoke about the importance of this festival. Students of VI-XII melodiously sang 'Shree Krishna Govind Hare Murari'. Manya (IB) sang 'Naino mein neend bhar aayi' and Rimjhim

Verma (XIC) presented a devotional bhajan - 'Mein mangal deep jalayuon' accompanied by Akshat Dwivedi (XII) on Tabla. Dance performances by classes I& II on the fast beats of ‘Natkhat Natkhat Yamuna ke tat par’ and by students of classes III-V on the song 'Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram' mesmerized the audience. National Anthem was sung at the end of the program.

Sci -Spectra (August 31)

Exhibition refers to displaying or showing

specified things. Red Roses from pre-

primary to XII used this platform to

showcase the static as well as working

models in the exhibition titled – ‘Sci-

Spectra’. The objective was to inculcate a

scientific temper and research-mindedness.

Chief guest Mr. M.C. Anand (DDE Inclusive

Education Branch, and the guest of honor

Mr. Arab Singh (DDE zone 23& 24) graced

the occasion.

Students made models, charts and posters to

present their topics. Teachers of the school

encouraged the students to put up such a

wonderful and enlightening exhibition under

the guidance of Ms. Meenakshi Ahuja, HOD

Science.

Primary students worked on the topics such as

human body, foliage, ‘Go Carting’, ‘Celestial’

and ‘Mechanica.’ Classes VI to VIII dealt

with the topics -‘Dive into the ocean’,

classes IX and X worked on the projects

‘Magical Science’ and ‘Revolutionary

Biology’. Senior students of classes XI

and XII presented their work on

‘Shaping Future’ and ‘Space Odyssey’.

Maths department of the school

involved students from classes I to XII.

Students from ‘NEEV’ highlighted the

importance of water in ‘Elixir of Life’. Artificial Intelligence made its importance felt through the

projects on ‘Gateway to 22nd Century’.

Disaster Management department raised

awareness on managing disaster. A

street play on ‘Satarkta Se Suraksha’ was

also presented by senior students.

Shri Anjali Rai Mehta, Mrs. Ritu Bedi and

Ms. Renu Sharma judged the projects and

appreciated the hard work put in by

students and teachers. They cross-

examined students about the concepts of

the models and encouraged them to

develop a scientific temper and research mindedness to develop the qualities of analytical and

critical thinking. Parents, visitors, teachers and students from various schools went through the

beautifully decorated

corridors and class rooms and

were highly impressed with

the exhibits. Feedback

received from the parents was

very encouraging.

The key objective was to bring

out the hidden talents of

students, with a focus on

creating more awareness of

science, technology,

mathematics and engineering.

The idea of the exhibition was

conceived by Principal Ma’am

and successfully projected by the students and teachers with the help of parents.

Talk Show on Freedom Fighters (August 13)

Students of classes I and II participated in a talk show on Indian Freedom Fighters and learnt

about their contribution in the freedom struggle. The classes echoed with slogans like, “ Jai

Jawan Jai Kisan”, “Vande Mataram”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The best orators were given the

opportunity to speak in the assembly which proved to be an enriching experience.

Ice – Cream Day

An ice-cream on a hot Summer day is a delight and a perfect

way to beat the heat. Students of classes I & II thoroughly

enjoyed eating ice-creams. It was an amazing sight to see

them relish each bite of the creamy scoop.

To freeze these special moments, photographs were clicked. Students happily posed with ice in their hands and a cool smile on their faces! Mrs. Lilly Margaret

Pre-Primary Wing

Friendship Day (Aug. 2)

The friendship that

blossoms in the

tender years plays

an important part in

life. It's a lifelong

bond. Keeping this

in mind, Friendship

Day was celebrated

with great zeal and

enthusiasm. Teachers explained the meaning of friendship, its importance and significance in

life. Children happily made cards and exchanged them with their best friend.

Movie - The Lion King (Aug. 6)

‘A moment lasts all of a second, but a

memory lives on forever’.

The students got an opportunity to create

cherished memories with friends on their visit

to PVR, Saket to watch the movie, 'The Lion

King'. They thoroughly enjoyed seeing animals

like lion, hyena etc. as they munched their

favourite popcorns with Pepsi.

Independence Day & Raksha Bhandhan Celebration (Aug. 14)

Independence Day was celebrated with unprecedented patriotic

fervour. Special assembly was held explaining the importance and

reason to celebrate the festival. Students enthralled the audience

with their performance on 'Fusion of Patriotic songs' and made

drawing of 'Chandrayan 2' using crayons.

The celebration aimed at strengthening the bond of love and to

instill the virtue of harmony. A number of colourful, creative,

attractive, fusion of modern and traditional style Rakhis were

made.

It was a day when girls turned into little artisans by making the best 'knot of protection' when

they tied Rakhis on boys’ wrist.

Janmashtami (Aug. 22)

Students were briefed about

the significance of

‘Janmashtami' during assembly.

A group dance with students

dressed as Shri Krishna, Radha

and Gopis was performed on

the song 'Natkhat Natkhat

Yamuna ke Tat Par'. A ‘Mukut'

decorating activity using

colours, bindis, and peacock feather was also conducted. Science Exhibition (Aug .31)

Exhibition refers to displaying of specified arts or

items. ‘All About Me’ was the theme chosen by

our students wherein they creatively presented

both static and working models based on body

parts. Using posters and charts, they made the

visitors aware about sense organs, cleanliness

and maintenance, good touch and bad touch,

and most importantly – ‘Organ Donation’ for a

noble cause!

English Extempore (July 29)

An on-the spot extempore on “I and My Belongings” was

participated by students of classes II to V on subjects like

bag, bottle, eraser, pencil etc. They were encouraged to

speak freely and express their views confidently. It was

judged by Mrs. Deepika Sharma, In charge NEEV.

Trip to KidZania (July 30)

Exposing children to various experiences through

excursions is a great mode of recreation.

NEEV organized a trip to KidZania, an entertainment

zone that is designed for educating kids in knowing how

a real city works, and also allows them to role-play as

firemen, doctors, officers, journalists etc. These

activities stimulated students’ creative thinking and also

boosted their self-confidence. They also learnt real life

values, social skills and team work.

Teej (Aug. 3)

The monsoon festival – ‘Hariyali Teej’

was celebrated with great zeal.

Students of pre-school made colorful

kites while children of classes II to V

made wall hangings using decorated

paper plates. Girls applied mehndi

design with coloured pens and sang

‘teej’ folk songs while enjoying a feast

of ‘ghevar’ in a festive mood.

Eid Celebration (Aug. 8)

Students were told the story about how prophet Mohd.

willingly agreed to sacrifice his son at the command of God.

‘Eid Al-adha’ is a festival of giving and sharing food. The

family members hug each other and greet ‘Eid Mubarak’.

Some children wore the traditional dress and recited their

prayer.

Ice-cream Day (Aug. 9)

To beat the heat, Ice- cream Day was celebrated with exuberance. The Ice-cream vendor served

the delicious creamy treat to all the students. An Ice-cream parlour was also set up. Students

were much excited and relished their cup to the last scoop.

To celebrate the spirit of patriotism and the loving bond between brother and sister, NEEV

celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with passion and pride. Students of classes

pre-primary to V performed on the song ‘mera desh badal raha hai’ portraying schemes like

Ujjwala yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan yojana etc. launched by the government, in addition

to the bravery of our Indian forces. At Neev too, the celebration was orchestrated with great

fervor and excitement. The Flag was hoisted by chief guest Mr. Shashi Kant Dixit. Students of all

classes gave amazing performances. Our little girls from pre-primary tied ‘rakhi’ on the wrist of

our guest and Manager.

Solo Dance Competition (Aug. 16)

Dance is a creative skill that develops our self-confidence

apart from discipline, commitment and work ethics. With

this aim, and to bring out their hidden talent, solo dance

competition was held for preschool and pre-primary.

Children were thrilled to be a part of the colorful, vibrant

and energizing event. Dressed up beautifully, the talented

dancers set the floor on fire. They were judged on

choreography, rhythm and presentation. First position

was won by Pritika Verma of Pre-school. In Pre-Primary A,

Avni stood first followed by Asmi in second position. Third

was jointly shared by Ayushman and Ditya Rawat. Advika,

Aarav Singh and Khwaish Balhara of Pre-Primary B won

first, second and third positions respectively.

Janmashtami Celebration (Aug. 23)

Janmashtami was celebrated with heightened spirits at

NEEV. The school was decorated beautifully to make the

event more cheerful and colorful. Students came in

colourful attire related to Janmashtami. They danced to the

tunes of Janmashtami songs. A ‘dahi handi’ event was

organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Makhanchor

Bal Gopal’. Students enjoyed narration of Incidents from

Kanha’s life.

Science Exhibition (Aug.31)

To promote scientific temper,

RRPS organized science

exhibition ‘Science Spectra’.

Our students presented

working models, projects and

informative ideas on ‘Elixir of

life - Water’. The room was

beautifully decorated.

Students were perfect in

explaining their models and

projects to the visitors.

Information related to

sources of water, water cycle,

properties, uses, pollution,

purification, benefits on

health, and rain water

harvesting were shared by

the young learners. The

working model of ‘rain chain’-

a Japanese technique for

harvesting rain water

mesmerized everyone.

Students also spoke about

the DJB proposal of rain

water harvesting system in residential areas. Another set-up that attracted attention was the

use of best vessel for drinking water. The exhibits were appreciated by everyone!
