• If you are sick stay in your lodging to get better and stop the spread of illness to your coworkers.
• Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your upper arm, not into the room or your hand.
• Clean your work area regularly including your phone, computer keypad and mouse. Remember touch screens can be damaged bysome cleaners.
• If you are experiencing headaches, cough, muscle or body aches and pains, sore throat, runny nose, feeling feverish or gettingchills please seek medical attention. It could be influenza and prompt treatment can greatly reduce the length and severity of yourillness. Individuals at high risk because of other complicating medical conditions should not delay in getting treatment.
• If you have a fever STAY IN YOUR LODGING as that is when you are most contagious. Help keep your coworkers from getting sick.
• If one of your coworkers is staying home sick, check in on them to make sure they do not have any unmet needs.

GENERAL MESSAGE (FEMA ICS FORM 213)
MESSAGE:
1. We (the Federal Partners) are here at the service of the State, Tribes, and all survivors. The State and Tribes will handle thoseissues that are within their area of responsibility and we should never circumvent them. We should look at how we can providebenefit to them as we support the state and their constituency. This is their home and we come and go. We must leave a positiveimpression of FEMA. 2. The safety and accountability of our deployed personnel is paramount to a successful operation. To achieve this, we need allpersonnel assigned to this disaster to check in to the Deployment Tracking System (DTS) no later than 9AM daily. Safety isparamount to protect our most precious resource…you! Please watch out for one another because you are important and we careabout you. 3. Empower your staff – You empower by letting go and demonstrating your trust and confidence to the team. Help them grow andexcel just like someone did for you. 4. You are authorized to find solutions to problems and take ownership of them until there is a resolution. Federal personnel shouldnot say "we don't know" or "that's not my lane." Attention to detail with a quick follow up will pay huge dividends. 5. Strive for Excellence! We need everyone’s assistance to complete this mission so be encouraging and positive. 6. You have my trust until you violate it – Make good decisions on our behalf. If you make an honest mistake don’t fret about it, learnfrom it and move on. Help one another grow and learn and invest back into the agency and our team. 7. Do your personal best – Everybody has good and bad days so focus on the overall effort. No ‘Got You” moments. We needeveryone’s help to complete this mission without fear or intimidation. Be encouraging. 8. Our core values are Compassion, Fairness, Integrity, and Respect. Demonstrate respect and dignity for everyone, internal andexternal, regardless of status, pay, title, etc. Remember, without fail, to treat others how you would like to be treated. 9. You have my support and approval – I trust you will go be the subject matter expert you already are. You are here because you arethe best we can find to do your job. We need you! 10. Customer Service Own the issue until it’s resolved or transferred to the appropriate person – Utilize exceptional customerservice always which is applied internally and externally. It’s the little things that add up to something great. Thank you, Sincerely, Tim Scranton
