Lucy Porter: PEOPLE PERSONLucy Porter’s brand new show is based around a fascinating true story with a stunning twist in the tale. Along the way, the thirty-something mum of ‘Irish twins’ (not Jedward thankfully) brings us her hilarious stand up observations.
She tackles the big subjects; happiness, home shopping, friendship and the psychological impact of daytime TV’s Dom Littlewood. It’s a feel-good night of comedy that will appeal to audiences of all ages.
Lucy continues to appear regularly on BBC Radio 4 on ‘The Unbelievable Truth’ and ‘Life: An Idiot’s Guide’ and has co-presented the magazine show ‘What’s So Funny’ on BBC Radio 4 extra. TV wise she featured heavily on BBC2’s I’m In A Boy Band! I’m In A Girl Band! and I’m a Pop Star!
‘clever, chatty and charming’ Three Weeks
‘ impeccably punch-lined anecdotes of the everyday… genuinely delightful’ The Telegraph
‘…..she is like your witty friend who’s always brilliant company down the pub. Many stand-ups would give their non-drinking arms to be able to transfer that kind of sparkling barroom bonhomie to the stage and Porter does it effortlessly’ The Scotsman

Female Gothic by Dyad Productions
From the company that brought you Austen’s Women, I, Elizabeth and The Diaries of Adam and Eve…
In the unquiet, stygian darkness between life and death, a lone, haunted woman tells chilling tales of the macabre and terrifying, illuminating the curious frailties of human nature…
The Victorian fascination with tales of mystery and the supernatural created an enduring legacy of Gothic fiction; but it is often the male writers that we remember. Many thrilling and eerie stories from the great female writers of that era have gathered dust and been forgotten. Until now.
This dark celebration of female gothic is adapted and performed by Rebecca Vaughan (Austen’s Women, I, Elizabeth) and Directed by Olivier Award Winner, Guy Masterson.

“… proving that even if Stockport isn’t vintage road -move territory, Lancashire and Tennessee can still find common ground.” The Times
“Some Jazz singers want to appear knowing and sophisticated. Barb Jungr isn’t like that; she just wants to get to the heart of the song, and if it means wearing her own heart on her sleeve at times, that’s just fine.” The Telegraph

Mitch Benn: REDUCED CIRCUMSTANCESThe adventures of a contracting man in a contracting world... The world is shrinking, the economy’s shrinking and comic songwriter Mitch Benn, ‘The country’s leading musical satirist’ (Times), is shrinking. In January 2011 he weighed 25 stone (that’s 350lb if you’re American and 160kg if you’re properly foreign). By last year’s Edinburgh Fringe he had lost 10 stone. How did he do it? Where’s it gone? How the hell did he reach 25 stone in the first place? And the real question: what will he (and we) do now? Music. Mirth. Morbid obesity.
Mitch is a regular writer and performer on The Now Show (BBC Radio 4) and It’s Been a Bad Week (BBC Radio 2). Three series of his successful Radio 4 show, Mitch’s Crimes Against Music have been broadcast so far. He also presented The Mitch Benn Music Show on BBC Radio 7.

The Boy At The Edge of the Room “He was not like other boys….
He did not see the world through the same eyes as us”
A boy called Tony struggles to fit in and find his place. He has a different way of looking at the world and longs to retreat to place where he can be ‘’nothing more than small and far off’. Those surrounding him have little patience for his dreams, with the exception of his mother who will do anything to ensure his happiness.
When a mysterious ‘dealer’ offers Tony the chance to make his dream come true, his mother must face a future without him, and the audience is forced to confront an unsettling and moving ending.
The Boy At The Edge of the Room is a fairytale for adults, inspired by Lucy Clifford’s 1882 story Wooden Tony. It focuses on a character who displays many of the classic traits of those on the autistic spectrum. It is a beautiful and moving examination of difference and acceptance, brought to life through song, movement and puppetry.
In association with Lighthouse, Poole, Anvil Arts, Basingstoke and Activate Performing Arts with advice from the Hampshire Autistic Society.
