FENG SHUI
3
We humans, livingin this cosmic world, are full of questions
about our existence.
How is it that somepeople are born towealth and plenty ...
... while others have toendure poverty and all
kinds of sufferings?

According to ancient Chinese philosophy, a person’s life is affected by the dateand time of birth (ba zi) and the orientations of the place he lives (feng shui).
If you’re born on theright day and at the right time, you’ll have good fortune and
be well-provided for.
Only good fengshui and hard workcan guarantee you
a good life.
There is aquintessential
Chinese saying thatgoes: first, destiny;second, luck; third,
feng shui.Innate factorsDestinyLuck
Non-innatefactorsFeng-shuiPhilanthropyEducation

To unravel a person’s fortunerequires a complex study ofhis date of birth, astrologicalsign, geographical location, and the Five Elements.

By combining the abovewith the art of feng shui,
one can accurately predicta person’s fate where life
and death; wealth andpoverty; and success and

The 12 birth signs in ChineseAstrology is one of the ways ofreading a person’s fortune.
When two people are born under thesame sign, theoretically, it means theyshare the same destiny.
We sharethe same
fate?
Hence, this methodof divinition issuperficial and
unreliable.

This ismaking me
dizzy!
Since time immemorial, numerous books that attempt to unravel life’s mysterieshave been written. Most of them are either superficial or too profound to digest.

Hi! I’m ahealthy,
bouncing babysoy bean!
When I growup, I want tobe a big soybean plant!
But ...
The place where I stay has bad feng shui ...
ROCK
NO SUNSHINE
NO RAIN
ROCKY GROUND
I WANT TOCHANGE MY
DESTINY! I WANTTO CHANGE THE
FENG SHUI!

Destiny: what is in storefor the person and thedetermining factor of hisor her fortune.
I’m a soy bean.I will grow into asoy bean plant.
Feng shui: a combination ofnon-innate environmentalfactors.
SUNSHINE
RAIN
FERTILIZER
There mustbe a way to find
the answer.
Living things growfor a reason; things
happen for a cause. As inscience, there is a theory
governing every kindof phenomenon.
9
Two people born under thesame Chinese birth sign do notnecessarily share the same fate.
The feng shui of a buildingmay produce differenteffects on two peopleof different ba zi*living there.
Not theplace
for me.
Thishouse suits
me fine.
In short, people not born of the same dateand time have dissimilar fates. The fengshui works differently on them too.
* ba zi means “eight characters”.
