In June 2O13, Fermob acquired Vlaemynck. Founded in 1965, this company has been making and repairing parasols, sunloungers, and furniture for the most beautiful beaches of the Côte d’Azur for over 5O years. Vlaemynck is also the company that first brought teak furniture for hotel and restaurant terraces to France. Its range of 3OOO products are made in a 14,OOOOm² production and assembly facility in Macon, and it can boast a portfolio of some 15,OOO loyal hotel and restaurant customers. As for what Vlaemynck brought to Fermob, there’s its fabric expertise and its mastery gained through 25 years of working with teak. This combined know-how is what makes the two brands today able to offer teak and aluminium furniture, as well as sofa and armchair to showcase fabrics.

In July 2O16, Fermob acquired a 5O% share in Smart & Green, a start-up build around a cutting edge LED lighting production facility. After developing innovative smart LED technology, Smart & Green is now launching Smartmesh, a new app

that lets you use Bluetooth to programme your lighting. Its flair for innovation recently received official recognition at

the International Bluetooth Summit in New York on 11 October, where it was featured among the 2O companies offering the best examples of the latest Bluetooth technology.

PILOTIS was created in 2O16 when Vlaemynck and the Italian architects and designers Alberto Basaglia and Natalia Rota Nodari worked together for the first time. They were inspired by the bridges of boats when designing this range, as if an ode to the sea.

The Italian architect and designer duo that is Alberto Basaglia and Natalia Rota Nodari began working together in 1997 when they joined forces to form the eponymous company. Receiving regular awards for their work, including a number of prizes (Young & Design in 1999, Good Design Award in 2OO7), in 2O13 the Castiglioni Foundation in Milan invited them to exhibit 15 years of their designs in a retrospective exhibition that received unanimous praise from the French and Italian press. In 2O15, they launched a brand new partnership with Vlaemynck, leaving their stamp on the Pilotis range. Pilotis is an extensive collection of dining and relaxation furniture for the garden, exclusively unveiled at the Maison & Objet trade show in September.This year, the designers were selected for the Compasso d’el Oro, one of the highest honours in design, for a Vibiem product.

PILOTIS is the perfect embodiment of Vlaemynck’s expertise across a range of fabrics: Batyline®, aluminium and teak combine to form unique, timeless pieces with an ambience between land and sea.
