It has become tradition at Hemingways Watamu that we try and raise funds for various charitable causes on New Year’s Day and thankfully many of our guests have been incredibly generous over the

years in supporting our causes. 2020 is no different. Hemingways Group has a long history of supporting

rugby in Kenya, from grassroots programmes through to international tournaments for Kenya national

teams. In 2019, we added another important programme and began sponsoring the

South Coast Pirates - a community rugby team based in Diani.

To help raise much needed funds for the team, we have invited Jonathan

Davies, former Wales and British Lion rugby great, out to Kenya

and he will be joining us on New Year’s Day to help the fund

raising at Hemingways.
