ono passati 40 anni da quando ho iniziato la mia avventura con la Fiam, ero immerso tra paura e sogno anche

perché dovevo lasciare un’attività consolidata, per una che non esisteva.Credo che il virus per il bello, che mi hanno inoculato alcuni insegnanti mentre frequentavo il locale istituto d’arte, unito al fascino del materiale e la sfida per la ricerca, siano stati determinanti per la scelta effettuata.Ho capito che la mia professione non doveva essere solo il lavoro, ma un piacere di vita, sfidando ogni giorno la propria conoscenza.Questi pensieri, estesi al proprio ambiente, creano “contaminazione positiva”.Credo che queste motivazioni siano state recepite anche dai tanti, importanti o meno, interni ed esterni interlocutori che mi hanno accompagnato in questo percorso.Gli artisti: Bruno Munari, Gianni Colombo, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Walter Valentini, Emilio Isgrò, Oscar Piattella, Umberto Mariani, Enrico Baj, Luigi Veronesi ed altri.I progettisti: Angelo Cortesi, Massimo Morozzi, Enzo Mari, Vico Magistretti, Massimo Iosa-Ghini, Cini Boeri, Philippe Starck, Giorgietto Giugiaro, Ron Arad, Danny Lane, Xavier Lust e tanti altri ancora sino ad arrivare, ai nostri giorni, alla collaborazione di tre grandi stars dell’architettura e del design internazionale: Oscar Dante Benini, Doriana e Massimiliano Fuksas, Daniel Libeskind.Tutti questi, per me, non sono stati solo dei grandi personaggi, ma maestri di cultura e tanti, anche di vita.Ognuno di loro ha esercitato un fascino unico ed irripetibile nella nostra collezione, facendo diventare il catalogo Fiam non solo strumento di comunicazione, ma una testimonianza delle più importanti correnti di design che hanno attraversato i nostri tempi, utilizzando un materiale che all’inizio era conosciuto come complementare, rendendolo protagonista e diventando la Fiam stessa icona di questo movimento.Sono passati 40 anni, si sono sviluppate all’interno dell’azienda tante inedite ed avanzate tecnologie, ma sono rimaste l’amore e la passione che sin dall’inizio hanno animato il maestro vetraio permettendogli di trasmettere l’unicità in ogni prodotto, creando emozioni.Alcuni prodotti ed opere di Fiam, sono presenti in importanti musei internazionali, sono stati loro attribuiti tanti riconoscimenti, films e programmi televisivi li utilizzano nelle loro riprese, molti illustri personaggi li hanno scelti per le loro abitazioni; anche per questi motivi, lo scopo della Fiam deve rimanere quello di far felici e rendere orgogliosi chi può vantarsi di possedere un suo prodotto, lasciandolo in eredità a testimonianza del proprio buon gusto e della propria cultura.Passato, presente, futuro, una storia capitalizzata da un’idea coerente nel tempo.

years have passed since I embarked on my adventure with Fiam. I was torn between

my aspirations and uncertainties as I had to leave a well-established business for one that did not yet exist.Despite the attempts by some of my teachers to inoculate me against all things beautiful when I attended the local art institute, my love of beauty, combined with my fascination for materials and the challenges of research, have been key to my life choices.I have learned that my profession is no ordinary job, but a lifelong delight, with daily challenges to my skills and knowledge. This philosophy, extended to my entire work environment, creates a “positive contamination”.I believe my views have also been understood by my many collaborators, important or otherwise, who have accompanied me on this journey.The artists: Bruno Munari, Gianni Colombo, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Walter Valentini, Emilio Isgrò, Oscar Piattella, Umberto Mariani, Enrico Baj, Luigi Veronesi and many others.The designers: Angelo Cortesi, Massimo Morozzi, Enzo Mari, Vico Magistretti, Massimo Iosa-Ghini, Cini Boeri, Philippe Starck, Giorgietto Giugiaro, Ron Arad, Danny Lane, Xavier Lust and many more, including our present collaboration with three shining stars of architecture and international design: Oscar Dante Benini, Doriana e Massimiliano Fuksas, and Daniel Libeskind. All of them not only great people for me to work with, but also masters of culture and, in many cases, also masters of living.Each has provided a unique and unrepeatable charm to our collection, making the Fiam catalogue not just a means of communication, but also a witness to the major currents flowing through the world of design. Together, we have turned a material that was once seen as a merely a complement to others, and turned it into the main protagonist, making Fiam itself an icon in this movement.40 years have passed and the company has witnessed the development of many unique and advanced technologies. But the years have also left behind a love and passion that, from the very beginning, has been the guiding spirit of the glass master, allowing him to apply that special character to every product, creating emotions.Some of Fiam’s award-winning products and works are displayed in major international museums, seen in films and television programmes, and many illustrious people have chosen them for their homes. For these reasons, among many others, Fiam’s goal must remain that of making the owners of our products proud and happy to do so, leaving behind a legacy and a testimony of good taste and culture. Past, present, future: a history capitalising on a consistent vision through the years.

S 40 a fait 40 ans que j’ai commencé mon aventure avec Fiam. J’étais partagé entre la peur et le rêve parce que je devais quitter une entreprise

qui fonctionnait pour une qui n’existait pas encore.Je pense que ce goût pour l’esthétisme qui m’a été transmis par certains enseignants alors que j’étais à l’école d’art, en plus de ma fascination pour le matériel et le défi pour la recherche, ont été décisifs dans mon choix. J’ai réalisé que ma profession ne devait pas juste être un travail mais qu’elle devait constituer un plaisir, défiant tous les jours ma connaissance. Ces pensées, étendues à mon environnement, créent la “contamination positive”.Je crois que ces motivations ont également été abordées par de nombreuses personnes importantes ou non, internes et externes, qui m’ont accompagnées dans ce parcours. Les artistes: Bruno Munari, Gianni Colombo, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Walter Valentini, Emilio Isgrò, Oscar Piattella, Umberto Mariani, Enrico Baj, Luigi Veronesi et plein d’autres.Les designers: Angelo Cortesi, Massimo Morozzi, Enzo Mari, Vico Magistretti, Massimo Iosa-Ghini, Cini Boeri, Philippe Starck, Giorgietto Giugiaro, Ron Arad, Danny Lane, Xavier Lust et beaucoup d’autres encore. Aujourd’hui, on arrive même à collaborer avec trois grandes stars de l’architecture et du design international: Oscar Dante Benini, Doriana et Massimiliano Fuksas et Daniel Libeskind.Selon moi, toutes ces personnes n’ont pas été que des personnages importants. Ils ont aussi été des maîtres d’art et pour beaucoup, des maîtres de vie aussi. Chacun d’entre eux a eu un rôle unique et inégalable dans notre collection, en faisant de la brochure Fiam non seulement un outil de communication mais aussi un témoignage des courants de design les plus importants qui ont traversé notre ère, en utilisant du matériel qui était utilisé comme une option au début et en le transformant en protagoniste. L’entreprise Fiam elle-même est devenue l’icône de ce mouvement. 40 années se sont écoulées. De nombreuses technologies de pointe et inédites se sont développées dans l’entreprise mais l’amour et la passion sont restés. Depuis le début, l’amour et la passion ont animé le maître vitrier et ils lui ont permis de transmettre un caractère unique dans chaque produit et de créer des émotions. Certains produits et certaines œuvres de Fiam sont présents dans les grands musées internationaux. De nombreuses récompenses leur ont été attribuées. De nombreux films et plein d’émissions de télévision les utilisent dans leur réplique, de nombreuses personnes célèbres les ont choisis pour leurs maisons. C’est aussi pour ces raisons que le but de l’entreprise Fiam doit rester celui de rendre heureux et de rendre orgueilleux celui qui peut se vanter d’avoir l’un de ses produits, en le laissant en héritage comme preuve de son bon goût et de sa culture. Passé, présent, futur, une histoire thésaurisée par une idée cohérente dans le temps.

gefangen, auch weil ich eine konsolidierte Tätigkeit für eine nicht vorhandene aufgeben musste.Ich glaube, dass der Virus für das Schöne, den mir einige Lehrer eingeimpft haben, als ich auf die örtliche Kunstschule ging, vereint mit dem Zauber des Materials und der Herausforderung der Forschung, für die getroffene Entscheidung maßgebend gewesen sind. Ich habe eingesehen, dass mein Beruf nicht nur Arbeit sondern Lebensfreude sein musste, indem das eigene Wissen jeden Tag aufs Neue herausgefordert wurde.Diese Gedanken schaffen, wenn sie auf die eigene Umgebung ausgedehnt werden, eine „positive Kontamination“. Ich meine, dass diese Motivierungen auch von vielen, mehr oder weniger bedeutenden, internen und externen Gesprächspartnern aufgenommen wurden, die mich auf meinem Weg begleitet haben. Die Künstler: Bruno Munari, Gianni Colombo, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Walter Valentini, Emilio Isgrò, Oscar Piattella, Umberto Mariani, Enrico Baj, Luigi Veronesi und andere. Die Designer: Angelo Cortesi, Massimo Morozzi, Enzo Mari, Vico Magistretti, Massimo Iosa-Ghini, Cini Boeri, Philippe Starck, Giorgietto Giugiaro, Ron Arad, Danny Lane, Xavier Lust und noch viele andere, bis hin zu der Zusammenarbeit mit drei großen Stars der Architektur und des internationalen Designs unserer Tage: Oscar Dante Benini, Doriana und Massimiliano Fuksas, Daniel Libeskind.Sie alle sind für mich nicht nur große Persönlichkeiten gewesen, sondern Meister der Kultur und viele auch des Lebens. Jeder von ihnen hat einen einzigartigen und unwiederholbaren Zauber auf unsere Kollektion ausgeübt, indem der Fiam-Katalog nicht nur zu einem Kommunikationsinstrument wurde sondern zu einem Zeugnis der wichtigsten Design-Tendenzen unsere Zeit,wobei ein Material verwendet wurde, das zu Beginn als komplementär bekannt war, indem es zum Hauptdarsteller gemacht und Fiam selbst die Ikone dieser Bewegung wurde. Es sind 40 Jahre vergangen, in dem Unternehmen haben sich viele neue und moderne Technologien entfaltet, aber Liebe und Leidenschaft, die den Glasbläsermeister seit Beginn inspiriert und es ihm ermöglicht haben, die Einmaligkeit in das einzelne Erzeugnis zu übertragen und Emotionen zu schaffen, sind geblieben. Einige Erzeugnisse und Werke von Fiam befinden sich in internationalen Museen, ihnen sind zahlreiche Anerkennungen verliehen worden, Filme und Fernsehprogramme verwenden sie bei ihren Aufnahmen, viele bekannte Persönlichkeiten haben sie für ihr Heim ausgewählt; auch aus diesen Gründen muss das Ziel von Fiam beibehalten werden, jene glücklich und stolz zu machen, die sich rühmen können, eines dieser Erzeugnisse zu besitzen und es als Zeugnis ihres guten Geschmacks und ihrer Kultur zu hinterlassen. Vergangenheit, Gegenwart, Zukunft – eine kapitalisierte Geschichte aus einer dauerhaft kohärenten Idee.

Fiam, cultura del vetro

Il vetro è un materiale magico ed eterno, quasi avesse un’intrinseca sacralità.Io ho accolto la sfida di questo materialesin da quando ero ragazzo facendolo diventare praticamente una missione.Gettando le basi per un progettoche sembrava alle sue origini improbabile; far diventare il vetro in lastra un materiale protagonista nell’arredamento.Incanto e poesia, ecco quelloche ancora mi trasmette il vetro.L’incanto di una materia senza tempo.La poesia è la vanità di una materia capace di riflettere ciò che ci circonda e di moltiplicare i nostri punti di vista sul reale.

Fiam,the art of glass

Glass is a magical and ever lasting material, as if it possessed an innate sacredness. I was young when I first accepted the challenge that this material represented and I set the basis for a project that initially seemed so unlikely possible: making glass become a furnishings star.Charm and poetry are still what glass conveys to me. The magic of a timeless material. Poetry is the vanity of a material capable of mirroring all that surrounds it and to multiply our perceptions of reality.

Fiam, la culture du verre

Le verre est un matériau magique et éternel, qui semble posséder un caractère sacré intrinsèque. Dès mon plus jeune âge, j’ai voulu relever le défi de ce matériau, qui est bientôt devenu pour moi une mission. J’ai ainsi jeté les bases d’un projet qui semblait au départ improbable : conférer à la dalle de verre une place de premier plan dans la décoration.Magie et poésie: ce sont les deux sensations que le verre m’a toujours procurées.La magie d’une matière intemporelle.La poésie, ou la vanité d’une matière capable de refléter tout ce qui nous entoure et de multiplier à l’infini nos perspectives sur la réalité.

Glas ist ein zeitlos schönes Materialmit magischer Ausstrahlung.Ich habe die Herausforderung dieses geheimnisvollen Materials schon in jungen Jahren angenommen, und in gewisser Weise zu meiner Mission auserkoren.Und damit die Grundlagen für ein Projekt geschaffen das zu Beginn beinahe aussichtslos erschien – die flache Glasscheibe zu einem Protagonisten der Einrichtung zu machen.Und auch heute noch vermittelt mir das Glas Zauber und Poesie.Den Zauber einer zeitlosen Materie.Die Poesie einer Materie, die ihre und unsere Umgebung reflektiert und unsere Blickpunkte auf die Realität vervielfacht.
