This role will include supporting the Commercial, Projects and Operational Teams in ensuring correct specification and project delivery in regard to the technical aspect of all projects and systems. This role will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of all field technicians, as well as undertaking a range of tasks including technical analysis, surveying, installation and technical project delivery of metering and data collection equipment As a Field Services Manager you will be client facing so regular client or consumer contact will be required, good communication skills and IT skills will be required. Responsibilities Supporting the Project and Commercial Team to ensure the technical quality of various project deliverables, whilst understanding the wider risks associated with the work. Liaising with Clients and Suppliers, alongside the Information Systems Support role, to ensure effective delivery of all technical works. Contributing to debriefing meetings with the Project Team to evaluate the project, and identify lessons learnt for current or future projects. Raising major issues, sharing concerns, and reporting back on a project progress to the Project and Commercial Team on a regular basis Assisting in maintaining a positive working relationship with all Sycous clients Keeping accurate records using Sycous systems of all work undertaken to cover specification, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of all supplied products; this may include the production of project sign-off and update reports, paying a particular emphasis on works such as electrical installation works, ensuring certification is correct and readily available, Identify through audits and spot checks potential areas of improvement and work with colleagues to ensure these weaknesses are proactively mitigated,

• Undertake planned health and safety risk assessments to produce risk assessments and method statements, working with the Project Team and HSEQ Manager

• Undertaking dynamic risk assessments prior and during undertaking any activity • Act as an ambassador for general health and safety and customer service • Help identify cost savings, opportunities to upsell on current projects, or further

working opportunities on other projects • Other reasonable requests related to the delivery of Sycous products and

services. • Support the delivery of all metering projects across the UK, including but not

limited to: o Accurate forecasting of stock requirements alongside the project and

contracts management, o Identification of project risks and taking necessary mitigating steps where

appropriate, o Excellent communication with clients and contractors to arrange fulfilment

of all product orders, o Arrange and support the engineers to complete any necessary on site

works, o Attend onsite and other project meetings with clients and project team as

necessary, o Achievement of performance targets for time, cost, and quality,

• Undertaking project works, which can be site based works such as new build or retrofit or could be retro fit/new installation works for local authorities, some of the work may require overnight stays. And will include but is not limited to:

o commissioning, o installation, o fault finding, o client training, o Installation and/or commissioning of metering/data/prepayment systems

• Technical support and troubleshooting on: o Meter communication including:

§ Wired – M-Bus § Wireless – M-Bus § Pulse

o Data Loggers including: § IP § GSM/GPRS

• Working knowledge of metering systems and associated networks including: o Electricity/PV o Gas

o Heat o Hot Water o Cold Water o HIU’s

• Ad hoc support delivery of metering maintenance services across the UK, including:

o Close management of contracts to ensure we achieve all contractual KPI’s o Work closely with the Support Team and Head of Operations to ensure an

efficient use of resources o Audit completed works and the engineering team

• Day-to-day management of all technicians o Resolving issues as they arise in line with Company policies, or escalating

as necessary o Being a single point of contact for team concerns o Involvement in the recruitment of new team resources o Ensuring training is arranged through the HSEQ Manager for team

development Location Reporting office: Leeds Based: Home Competencies

• Team leader/supervisory/ Managerial skills • Heat network understanding including plant room systems, distribution mains and

HIU’s • Metering/data system installation, troubleshooting and maintenance • Prepayment system installation, troubleshooting and maintenance • Clamp-on commercial metering for water and heating systems • Installation and/or commissioning of meters and prepayment systems • Basic electrical knowledge • Basic mechanical knowledge • Desire to learn new products, processes, and solutions • Good communication skills • Organised/self-starter • Team player • Driving license • Commercial awareness • Risk assessment both planned and dynamic • Good IT skills and the use of Microsoft software or equivalent
