In our world of 7 billion, 1 billion are hungry, while a roughly equal number suffer from obesity, diabetes, and other health issues related to “overnutrition.” TABLE FOR TWO rights this global food imbalance by addressing these opposing issues through a unique “calorie transfer” model.

• In April 2012, San Francisco State University (SFSU) launched the TFT program at Healthy U inside their bookstore.

• All meals sold are healthy and TFT-branded.

• Thunderbird – in partnership with Chartwells, a Compass Group company - joined TFT as its very first partner in the U.S in 2009. TFT is offered for lunch at the main hot entree station – one of the most popular stations at the cafeteria.

• The TFT meal consists of a well balanced meal of protein, ‐carbohydrates, and veggies and rotates daily.

• TABLE FOR TWO launched at the Gunrock Pub on April 2nd, 2012 in collaboration with UC Davis Dining Service/Sodexo and The Blum Center for Developing Economies.

• TFT Meal: Chicken Marrakesh $11.25 North African inspired spiced braised chicken breast with black olives, apricots, figs, brown sugar, red wine and crunchy pecans, served over a bed of local Rue and Forsman organic brown rice.

The increase of the burden rate indicates that the community actively participates in the school meal program. We put great importance on the community operated meal program even after the completion of the TFT meal program.

In Uganda, every student takes an exam upon completing elementary school. The Grade 1 marks the best academic score, making the Grades 1 through Grade 3 continue on to secondary school.

In the years between 2005 and 2010, the number of students to take the final examination increased by 1.5 times. Grade 1 and 2 students who attain high scores increased by two times.

There are many children who are unable to continue studies even after entering school. The meal program supports the children to pursue and continue their studies.
