Transformers (2007)

• The main picture is one of the main characters, a Transformer.

• The font of the film title is bold in colour and style, making it stand out from the poster.

• The colours of the Transformer emphasises the genre of film and attracts the target audience, who would most likely watch Sci-Fi/Action films.

• The tag line ‘PROTECT’ gives the audience the idea of what the character shown is going to do in the film.

War Horse (2011)

• The title is the biggest and boldest writing on the poster.

• The main focus of the poster is the ‘War Horse’, who is also accompanied by the main human character.

• The colours of the background and costume worn by the main character suggest the genre is a War Drama, as well as the title.

• The tag line ‘Separated by War. Tested by Battle. Bound by Friendship.’ links to the genre of the film.

Pompeii (2014)• The main focus is on

Mount Vesuvius erupting, which destroyed the city of Pompeii in 79AD, with a couple kissing.

• The title is the largest font on the poster, also contrasting against the dark colours in white.

• The tag line ‘No Warning. No Escape.’ emphasises the storyline, which the audience know the outcome of.

• The colours draws attention of the audience, targeting those who are interested in the historical disaster/romance genre.
