Overall poster only uses one colour, red, and the two shades of black and white. The limited colours gives it negative feel, not very happy atmosphere. Also the colour red connotes blood, death and violence. Also the idea of infection is a post apocalyptic theme as it deals with real life fears, overall this reveals the genre as a post modern, dystopia thriller.

Scratches - this connotes violence and gives the poster an eerie feel.

Lead Image – black so stands out on red background. Decayed, scratches makes it feel unnerving. Big Ben in the image gives away the setting. Man walking through London, only person in image/in London. Seems lonely, Is he looking for someone? Maybe he’s the one infected? Maybe everyone else is infected apart from him? Can’t see facial expression which creates mystery.

Tagline – top of poster almost as big as masthead, in white letters so it attracts audience attention. Also it’s like a countdown until something happens and audience will want to know what happens. All of this entices the audience to see the film.

Directors name – if people have seen films he’s done before they’re more likely to go see this film.

Masthead - Written in white letters and big in middle of poster to draw attention. Title links in the tagline and people will want to see what happens after the 28 days. Behind masthead is an image of the infection sign. Again this links with the tag line (day 3: infection). As this is here it means the infection is a main part in the narrative and people will want to know what the infection is and what it has done to cause so much devastation, attracting them to see the film.
