Back to the FutureThe poster of ‘Back to the Future’ is effective due to the use of lots of colours. It draws the audience’s eyes to the poster as it uses a lot of different colours. It is quite obvious that the film is in the sci-fi genre as the poster looks quite futuristic and also the title hints at the genre too. The poster also shows the actor’s names which means that the poster is using stars to promote the poster and also Steven Spielberg’s name is on the poster and he is a very famous producer and director.

The Dark KnightThis poster of ‘The Dark Knight’ is very effective but it only has a few colours on the poster such as blue, black and orange. It also features a tagline which reads ‘Welcome to a world without rules’, which is a very common feature on a poster. It also has the actor’s names on the poster which gives it the star quality and it has the title written in a certain way which suits the poster. It also does fit the third’s genre with the tagline at the top, the main picture in the middle, and the actor’s names, title and release date at the bottom. Also, the fire which is in the shape of the Batman logo is very effective and eye-catching.

Guardians of the GalaxyThis poster is effective due to the use of many different colours that it has. The title also hints at the genre and hints that the film has something due to the word ‘galaxy’. It also uses the stars to promote the poster as it has some famous stars such as Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper. It also uses the thirds rule, with the names of actors at the top, the main picture in the middle and the title of the film at the bottom. The poster is very eye-catching and the main picture also tells the audience about the genre.
