Typical Film Openings
The opening scene is usually attention grabbing to draw in the audience, so they want to watch it.
Action- They start with running, shooting, something adrenaline pumping because with this action it
also includes fast up-beat music to go with the movements going on.
Comedy- In comedy they usually start with slapstick comedy to get the laughs starting. It’s usually
something stupid like a comedian slipping on a banana or getting slapped, something we would find
embarrassing if it happened to us.
Sad- Usually start with a slow song that gets the emotion running. The main character immediately
showing sad emotions, he/she would be crying or just looking upset.
Typical Film Openings
Drama - Drama sometimes starts with a montage to show the main character/s happy before the main problem (the drama) happens, this shows that they life was normal before their life went down hill. e.g. Militant playing with his kids and wife while wearing his uniform, then on the bus back to camp laying his head on the window reminiscing with a smile on his face then is sent to war and dies. This is dramatic because the audience start thinking of the affect this is going to have on the kids and the wife. Romance- Slow music, close ups, two main people are focused on to show their connection and what they were like before they met and how they changed after they met or fell in love.Horror- Always starts with a group, doing some kind of activity together or planning to go out in the weekend. This shows the audience about the closeness of the characters and their personality so they figure out what their reactions will be like when the horror and torment starts. E.g. will they leave their friend or take them with them? Will they

AdULTHOOD
Reason of Inspiration• The characters gave us ideas of how our character could be like the
whole idea of hard and fearless, they are all trying to survive.• The settings which is the streets was inspirational too because the
name of our distribution is “Street.Life Productions”• The whole grey look of the camera which shows dullness and
darkeness is how we change the natural colour of our film opening to…….

KiDULTHOOD
Reason of Inspiration• The whole idea of the
streets and young people trying to make it and survive with their not so luxury life.
• Also the idea of bullying happening within young people where they are getting beaten up by older people and their possessions are taken of them.
• Again the colour scheme of the movie showing the great grey clouds of Britain.

The Losers
Reason of Inspiration• The start of the Losers
is the main inspiration, when they are introducing the characters and they freeze and write who it is then write what their job is we found this interesting and thought it would be good as no one had done this from all the previous productions we watched on YouTube and the examples we watched from previous AS students at our college.

Blood and Bone
Reason of inspiration• Blood and Bone inspired us with that whole action part ad how the
main character introduces himself as this hard man who can take on about ten people on his own. The movie is very attention grabbing and it caught eye especially how it ends the film opening by a kick to the camera and blacking out as the camera is viewing him as the victim of the attack. We thought this was great and decided we would include it in our film opening it was a must.
