appropriate vocabulary and expressions and to develop their writing skills

Students were given samples of film reviews and a discussion followed on how to go about writing a film review. They were asked to mention what the film was like, what kind of film it was, summarize the plot in a few sentences and say something about the main characters. After finishing their projects, they presented them in the classroom. Here are some samples of their work.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Alice in Wonderland was

amazing.

It wasn’t just for children

and

it wasn’t a cartoon either

but it was a real adventure

movie.

I enjoyed it a lot.

The story was about Alice and all

the different things that happened

to her in wonderland.

She became friends with an

invisible cat, a giant rabbit and a

hat maker.

She helped them to fight the evil

queen of hearts.

I liked Alice most because she was

very brave.

I also liked her friend the rabbit

who always gave her good advice.

OZ the GREAT & POWERFUL

The film “Oz the Great & Powerful” was very exciting and full of surprises. It was a fantasy adventure film. It is a great film for both children and adults. I saw it with my friend Thalia and my grandma. They both enjoyed it!

The story was about

Oscar “OZ”

who was a

small

magician in

a travelling

circus. He is

getting

involved in

a magical

world and

he tries to

save

Emerald

City of Oz

from the

bad Witch.

The character of Oscar Oz was great because he was brave, funny & kind.

FILM CHARACTERSI also liked his friends Theodora and the flying monkey.

The film was adventurous and funny! It had plenty of beautiful images. I liked it a lot!

HANGOVER by Stephanos Binis D1/4The film hangover was amazing. It was a comedy just for adults. Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor is missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding. The character of Galifianakis was funny. The film was funny.

THE LEGEND OF ZORRO BY NIKOS VRETTOS

THE LEGEND OF ZORRO WAS BORING. IT WAS AN ADVENTURE FILM. THE FILM WAS JUST FOR CHILDREN.

• The story was about Zorro who defends the poor from bad men. He wore a black mask, a black hat and black boots. Nobody knows who he really was. He was a very brave and talented fighter.

The character of Zorro was interesting because he was very brave. I also liked his friend Elena.

• Gravity was exciting and very unusual. It was an adventure film and it was for all the family. My brothers and my parents enjoyed it too.

• The story was about a woman (Sandra Bullock), who had

difficulty in space. Pieces of satellites destroyed the space station where she worked and she couldn’t go back to Earth. There was a man (George Clooney) who helped her but he got lost in space .The woman finally returned to Earth after some time.

• The character of the man was great because he was brave and

kind. The film was amazing!!!

FROZENFROZEN WAS AMAZING.IT WAS A 3D-ANIMATED

MYSTICAL FANTASY-COMEDY FILM,BUT IT WASN’T JUST FOR CHILDREN.MY PARENTS ENJOYED IT TOO!

FROZENTHE STORY WAS ABOUT TWO PRINCESSES ANNA

& ELSA. ELSA HAD THE MAGICAL POWER TO MAKE ICE AND SNOW. ONE NIGHT WHILE PLAYING, SHE HURTS HER YOUNGER SISTER ANNA BY MISTAKE.

FROZENANNA, GOES ON A JOURNEY WITH A MOUNTAIN MAN, HIS PET REINDEER, AND A FUNNY SNOWMAN TO FIND HER LOST SISTER, WHOSE ICY POWERS TRAPPED THE KINGDOM IN WINTER.

FROZENTHE CHARACTER OF ELSA WAS GREAT BECAUSE SHE

WAS KIND.I ALSO LIKED THE TROLLS BECAUSE THEY HELPED ANNA WHEN SHE WAS A BABY!

THE FILM WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
