Portage trails which leads to the two main scouting points (the rocks shown in the bottom left of figure 2. And the rocks shown in the middle of the left side of figure 2)
We pointing out features of Lucifer’s; The massive tongue in the center, followed by three nasty off-set holes, and wave trains.
I spoke with a few instructors and came to the conclusion that I should enter from river right by ferrying across the current, and attempt to hit the tongues on river left and thread through the two holes (although there are a few routes available)

Le Rouge River
17Steven Hood
• There is an eddie at the top of the rock
pile with a portage trail leading to some
scouting rocks.
• These rocks allowed us to see all of
rock pile and part of the way through
the canyon.
•started out wide at the top of the rapid
with a massive boulder in the middle,
offering a rough and rocky pour over on
river left preceding the nasty waves +
holes on river left .
Rock Pile and Canyon
(Main Rapid)
•On river right there is a tight bend around the boulder, to be able to hit this move you must approach from river right, enter center right and power past the protruding rocks past the protruding rocks on river right, float briefly with a 3 o’clock angle until you are past the scouting rocks and shoot around the bend altering your angle as you steer around the boulder, you will notice an eddie on river right of this move, if needed stop to take a breath. The river begins to bend to the right causing fast current on river left, you are generally forced in this direction. With canyon walls on each side of you, you are committed to this rapid. The Canyon is compiled of multiple waves, followed by a drop into a nasty hole, at a water level of 125 cubic meters per second, or a folding, crashing wave at 200 cubic meters per second.

The Jaques-Cartier
19Steven Hood
The Jaques-Cartier begins with strong currents, and small continuous wave trains. we began eddie hopping after the first km .
We then guided our way along river right and caught the tonugue into the whole. After the whole we had to get to the island to direct other rafts in the right direction.
The Island provided a perfect scouting point for Flip-Flop Falls
