Welcome to London, England’s capital – and our host city for this year’s UEFA Champions League final. More specifically, welcome to Wembley stadium, an iconic name in football history. It’s a stadium that’s hosted five previous European Cup finals, the last one in 1992, but this is the first since the stadium re-opened in 2007.As a major international city, London provides us with the ideal springtime backdrop against which to celebrate the very best of European club football. I urge you to spend time visiting this great city. There are plenty of other activities in the city this week connected to the final, such as the week-long Champions Festival taking place in Hyde Park and the UEFA Women’s Champions League final on Thursday 26 May at Craven Cot-tage, home of Fulham FC. So why not go along if you can still get a ticket?Importantly, please enjoy the atmosphere and ambience around the match in a safe and re-sponsible manner and help us to turn this truly special event into a carnival of football. And most of all – enjoy the game!
