ANALYSIS
1. Were the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their functions and characteristics?
Yes. The books and other resource materials are well arranged and well maintained according to its proper places
and labels.
2. Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the teachers? Why? Why not?
Yes, the guidelines and procedures are well access by the teacher, because it has simple and clear instructions.
3. What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?
It will enhance their skills, and it will help them to learn more , fast and convenient.
4. What is its weakness?
The tendency would be, they will relay on it all the time. And will forget other resource materials. As I have
observed only few are going to their library.
REFLECTIONS
1. Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your interest the most? Why?
I’ve noticed they have a lot of global figures inside their classroom. I asked their teacher about it, and it amused me,
because the students actually liked to play some games in their science subject. Because all this time all I thought it
was just for decoration or for the beautification of the room—so, it was a good that the displayed materials are useful.
2. Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?
Camera’s in the computer. I know easy access gadget but its not easy to others especially to those who don’t have
computers at home.
3. Which ones do you feel you need to learn more about?
I guess making presentation but not using powerpoint, it’s another software that should be installed and it takes
time to make it, so, I’m looking forward to learn it.
Episode 2
BULLETIN BOARD DISPLAYSANALYSIS
1. Did the board display design reflect the likes/ interests of its target audience? Why? Why not?
Yes, it should be. Actually the teacher are the one motivating her pupils to make it. It is also a way of the teacher to
exercise and develop the creativity of the pupils. So, therefore the displayed board reflect the interest of the pupils.
And every month the displayed boards/bulletin boards are updated by the pupils.
2. Was the language used clear and simple for the target to understand? Why? Why not?
The teacher was very particular of the what words or sentences should she used in discussion or any communication
process. One thing to consider was their grade level and their learning capacity . During the discussion proper the
words or phrases used by the teacher was clear, emphasized and simple, but the teacher also sharing some new
vocabularies to update them. Same also with the posters and printed materials, they used words that are easy to
understand and remember.
3. What do you think was the use of board display? Was it effective? Why? Why not?
Aside from it is the informational media or the source of their daily information, and update activities-- bulletin
boards are also a media were one can express their emotions/feelings or suggestions about something that is
related academically. For the teachers it is also an effective and useful media in case they have meetings, exams
and others.
4. What suggestions can you make?
Way back 2008, I visited the Ateneo de Davao and I noticed that every floor has bulletin boards every department,
and it was beautifully created and they also have a freedom wall where they can post and update news and current
activities or up-coming activities and so on so forth. So, I also suggest the same , but it would also be good to have a
big bulletin board for both the parents and students, it would be more like a suggest that the bulletin of the campus
should be placed near the entrance of the school to be notice by the students and visitors.
REFLECTIONS
1. Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective board displays. Elaborate on why
each skill is needed.
The teacher should have a list of objectives and priorities, second she should think a good venue where to put or
locate the bulletin, third have an efficient and colourful materials, fourth she should be creative enough for the
information posted be effective for the audience and if not ask help for those who can, and fifth the teacher should
already have an idea and initiative to follow up on how will the audience react on the displayed bulletin board—and
if the audience like it and read the posts then the teachers plan was effective enough.
2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these
skills?
Way back before when I’m still elementary we used to make some posters and we are also the one assigned to put
them beautifully on our bulletin board outside our class—since I love drawings/paintings I did the best poster I
could ever make and then we individually asked each of us what should be done first and what should be our
theme, after we divide the tasks accordingly on our expertise , then we have the best bulletin board ever made that
month.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve on or acquire these skills.
I think on how to organize things like I’m not really sure if that poster looks great on that wall, because sometime I
really need someone who can assist and suggest what should be appropriate and nice to put in that corner or wall.

ANALYSIS
1. What do you think prompted the teacher to choose the materials/learning resources that she/he used?
The teacher just follows what is in the book. I presume that the teacher knows very much her student that is why
she uses it to them because it is effective and she know as that the students will not be bored on it.
2. What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be managed?
According to their teacher she experience difficulty every reporting session, because the prepared materials of her
pupils are lacking, like they don’t provide pictures and the prepared manila paper are very small.
3. Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why? Why not?
I can’t say 100 % effective, all though they have some useful resources inside the classroom, because for me if the
material are not used properly accordingly to its used then it will never be effective. But I can see that the pupils are
enjoying every activity conducted to them.
REFLECTIONS
1. Put yourself in the place of the teacher. What would you do similarly and what would you do differently if you will
teach the same lesson to the same group of students? Why?
One time the teacher was late but still they started their prayer. And I was amused. So, therefore I would also do
the same thing, start the class with a prayer. Because everything will go smoothly if you start your day with a
prayer. As a teacher, one should prepare and think what best activity to conduct inside the classroom and make
sure that your learner will enjoy and at the same time learn---that’s the important part of an activity. She usually
divide the class into groups for class reporting and class presentation or drama, and I also like that way, classroom
interactions especially with co-classmates is very effective way to develop the learners cognitive and social aspect.
Because I’ve observed that most of them are very shy.
I thing that I would do differently in that kind of classroom setting is that instead to do the activity inside the
classroom, It would be better if the drama activity or other activity that needs more space will be conducted in the
playground, since the first thing to consider is the space inside the classroom--- it’s very small and uncomfortable to
move. And in terms of reporting, instead of letting them made the pictures , I will take the charges of making it so
that it would be nicer and attractive -so that everybody will be encourage to listen attentively.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE
Analysis
1. Give at least three benefits of doing a survey of available materials before making your own materials? Explain each.
1. TELEVISION AND AUDIO VISUAL- Having these media is an additional factor in learning, it adds plus factor to the
students, not because it’s interesting for them but it’s for their wide imagination and the capacity to think high. It
helps them to imagine things beyond their thinking.
2. Books/Encyclopaedia – they have a very big and spacious Library, and it has enough reference materials to chose
from. Now a day’s many students rely on internets and forget to check on library’s. As a student, one should know
on how to balance the use of internet and library( books) in her/his references.
3. Follow up activity – a follow up activity should be followed after the video, and you should also consider the time,
make an activity that will suit with your remaining time.

1. Which of the materials did you like making the most? Why?
The making of pictures to post. It shows my creativity and I got a lot of compliments to the students, and it only
shows that they also like to make one.
2. What difficulties if any, did you encounter in making the materials? How did you overcome them?
For me, it’s just a matter of time management. It takes time to draw such pictures. So, you should know how to
budget your time.
3. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of teaching materials?
From what I have observed in some educational videos, safety first are always implemented. So, that’s the first
thing that the teacher should do, and list what teaching materials are present and what are those in needs- the
teacher should be very practical in choosing these materials. And if possible, if the students can share the same
materials why not. To avoid also complaints from parents. And teaching materials are not for one use only. If ever
preserved that material for another activity.
Episode 5

ReflectionsonFS
Experience
it was a great opportunity for us future teacher to be expose in an activity like this. It’s a big help for us to become better and effective teacher. Now I realize that even as short detail counts. Its not easy to think and make a daily plan that would be appropriate for your lesson, and you don’t even know if its effective and if you’re students will like it or not – that kind o f thoughts always came to my mind. As a future teacher I already have a hint and it gives me ideas on how to make a class /lesson worthwhile. Being a teacher you are not obliged to just teach on what’s on the book and that’s it, you should have objectives and principles, a teacher should make the most out of it—you should know if they understood it or not, if they like it or not, if its effective or not, if its worth it or not.. these questions are just samples of the things the teacher should consider. And in order to achieve your goal in a day, you should always prepare and make an objective plan, so that everything is smoothly going. And mostly LOVE what you are doing.. not because the school is paying you then that’s it, no that’s should not be the case. Love your profession, love your students as you love yourself. It is the only gift you can ever give and receive—which is LOVE.. It has only 4 letters but it has 4 billions of meanings. And if you show what it should be shown and give more of what it should be give, then I guess, you are an effective
and good teacher. And for sure your students will never forget you not because you’re a teacher but a parent to them as well.
