mAYA FLETCHER

this collection of images capture, what i would like to consider as the Process of change. these photos document beautiful and rare areas in Rome, Barcelona, Florence, and Amsterdam. in those places, i found bits of myself that were crucial to my development and growth as a woman. i was inspired by the color, it seemed like everywhere i went, loud colors followed me, shouting for attention and a chance to shine. of course, i over-flowed my harddrive with vibrancy and life. but who i be if i were to resist? i was entranced by the environment that grew around me, shaping me, morphing me into something i’ve never seen before. the motivation found me, planting itself on every passerby, palm tree, blue sky, building, or even stone. i became almost obsessed with staring, not at anything in particular, but at everything. compelled by the vexes of these places, i made it my home. i made it a place to challenge the inner workings of life, learning about my place in the world in the process. this collection stands as a journey through exploration, adulation, stupefaction, and wonderment. to sum up feelings, thoughts, and reasons, i leave you with this...

i realized that this was the place to prepare to be myself. i had to warm up to me again. i fell in love here, but this time with myself.
