This of piece of art reminded me of the hills to the south containing the antennas. The

way the lines made its way around forming curves and eventually sections, caught my attention.

Iterations1/3

Responds:To the sun, wind, and hills.

Almost all my design were inspired by the hills andthis was my first shot at mimicking the already-there object. This design complements the slope of the hills, embraces

the sun to shun lights in through the gaps.

with this, my first idea was to create a threatning entranceby intentionally revoking the material in many different

shapes and form. The interior gives a more enhanced feel of the curve of the design.

Iterations2/3

This iteration was inspired by the trees in our site. Todescribe the branches of our site, i used model

sticks overlapping each other creating an array. The frontwall represents the hills across the campus that contains

the homes and antennas.

This is the younger brother of the previous modelbecause the use of the idea, this came out of it. Some

changes were made on this one. The far back is the entrance. There a person could feel a magic sense from the the design coming

up forward to meet itself on the top. From there, a two option entrance is given and both lead to the same place which is the meditative area.

in that area, the tree is embraced and this area inspired our final Design.

Iterations3/3

Inspired by the columnsat Batmale Hall

This next model is another unique one compared tothe rest of the family. The design was inspired from

the columns next to the Arch. Department. Only this one is more of an “raising the bar” design with the

same column concept but merging out a half stepmore from the last.

Learning

As i came across constructing all my architectural models in this segment of the semester, i continually and constantly collided with the fact that

there is a wide selection of different ways to designing a final piece from scratch, and its fascinating.

I enjoyed making my own sense of space and design from the pertaining requirements given. Creating space and form through, magistical spaces, quiet, and meditative section was an excellent experience i had, and my

of course as well to my own team.

Site

Our site was specifically chosen for its uniqueness of form and space. By form i am referring to the slope it contained. We

noticed there was an almost flat surface in between two tiny hills. And by Space, our minds went immediately to the trees, how these trees together a form a space in the center of them.

Our Final Design

InstallationSurface walkway

With this project, our first task was to create thethe surface structure for people to walk on. Nothing could have

been done without this because everything around is connected to it. Think of the surface structure as the

heart of the design. The walls that held the fabricwere connected to it as a support, the stairs and the meditative

section were connected as well.

This structure has a framework underneath it. Within in the framework we installed 2x1 beams across one frame work

to the next for extra support within that installation. After wards we added the vertical flooring shown on the right, to enhance

the richness.

InstallationMeditative Section

As part of our final design, we incorporated a meditative section. This small place was intendedfor an individual experience a space with ease. This

space not only carried a half foot elevation seater, but also,

involved the trees as a back support the person siting. This was bring in nature to our work.

InstallationIssues

I think our only issue was connecting the walls together. As we progressed more in the construction of the wall, it became

more complex. We’ve added strings and shaped themas an “x” shape to hold the fabric. And out of it came an

accidental achievement: As the wind hit the fabric material, it created the same shape a small vacation boat makes when

the wind acts violently against to push the boat.

Final thoughts• Although my designs did not project so much in our final project, I had a great

time contributing my experience in the construction process. There were many types of characters, and had many disagreements with one another. At the end of the day, we created a solution we all agreed on and continued on that solution. Very rapidly, this project took over my life in a positive manner. Day and night, myself as well of others, constantly tried to come up with different solutions to our problems, and at the same time, try to have as much experience and learn from it. Hands on experience was another factor. Some did not know the process, or the idea of constructing, but we taught one other through our own past experience and knowledge. Together, we started a project, and together we finished it.
