Reaction to Shadowing Experience

• I enjoyed my shadowing experience and I really do believe that I would like to go into Nursing. My Mentor Rose Caruso works with the cancer patients on the urology floor and is a registered nurse. She graduated college with a bachelors degree and always wanted to go into nursing.

• Her starting salary was 60,000 and she gets 4 weeks of paid vacation 8 holidays and 4 personal days. Rose says the most needed skill in nursing in communication. She says the job can get very emotional and you can become attached to your patients but she enjoys what she does. The worst thing about her job is the paperwork and the best thing about her job is her patients.

• I really liked this experience because it got me to see how the job is and how hard it can be. I liked the way things were done and it was what I expected. Nursing looks like an enjoyable job because you get to help save lives and that’s the type of career I would like to pursue.
