In breaking news, the Met office has just issued a yellow warning for severe rain throughout the island today. There is said to be a 10mm rain fall within just one hour locally- and there is likely to be severe flooding.

This extreme weather follows dozens of UK flood warnings after Storm Frank hit Britain, York seeing the harshest of the storm. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was spotted helping out in the area, saying there had been a “superhuman effort to protect people”.

In sports, island-born sailor Leigh McMillan (LEE- MUC- MILL- ANNE) has won an Extreme Sailing Series championship in Australia, saying "We live for days like today, it was absolutely awesome."

In other news, Apple have bought a company which allows facial expressions to be recognised through your iPhone. The program is called ‘Emotient’, bought from an American start-up company,

detecting emotions through scans of facial expressions in video clips. The company state they are “the leader in emotion detection”.
