Famous Authors and Poetsand Their WorksA unit on famous authors and the works they created
Day by Day plan:• Monday – Students will be introduced to some famous
authors and their works
• Tuesday – Students will be introduced to the assignment for the week: a PowerPoint presentation on the author of their choice as well as completing at least 1 WebQuest, provided by me
• Wednesday – Students will be introduced to YouTube and Pinterest, which will hopefully aid them in their assignments for the week
• Thursday – Students will be introduced to Voki, Secondlife, Podcasts, and Photoshop, which will hopefully aid them in their assignments for the week
• Friday – Presentations and review. Webquests are due
Analyze the Learner:
• Seventh Grade Class
• 12-13 year olds
• 20 students• 12 girls
• 8 boys
• 3 African American
• 3 Hispanic
Objectives
• A: Seventh grade class – 20 students which include: 20 12-3 year olds (12 girls, 8 boys, 3 African Americans and 3 Hispanics)
• B: The student will be able to identify some famous authors and their works
• C: It will be done by accessing the internet, presentations being presented on a Smartboard, and at the end of the week, students will be able to recall information about specific authors and works associated with them
• D: The students will be able to do this with 100% accuracy.
• After a week, the students will be able to correctly (100%) identify the parts of a Friendly Letter and be able to compose one.
Materials
• Smartboard
• Computer (with Internet access)
• Various programs introduced throughout the week (Voki, Podcasts, etc…)
• MS Powerpoint or Prezi
