Commerce and the LLB Law degree

• BComm students are not permitted to register for any more than 60 ECTS with the exception of students wishing to do the LLB.

• Students wishing to apply for the LLB MUST register for 65 ECTS,which must include at least 25 ECTS of Law (in addition to Business Law I and II from Years One and Two).* These students must also fulfil the stream requirements. Law is not a stream.

• Students who wish apply for the LLB must go to the School Office to seek permission to register for 65 ECTS.

* Tax I (AY308) is eligible as a Law module

Final Year – B. Comm., B. Comm. International & International Experience

The Pass standard is 40% in each subject. However a student with marks less than 40% in one or more modules will be deemed to have passed provided:

- The aggregate mark for all modules of the year is at least 40%

- No mark is below 35%

- Not more than 15 ECTS have marks in range 35 – 39%

Note: Where one or more of these conditions have not been met, each module

where the mark is below 40% must be repeated. Marks of 40% and above are

carried forward to the next session and are not repeatable.

Note: Capping (max mark is 40%) in Autumn Repeats applies

Final Year Repeat Examinations

• Students must present for the initial examination in a module unless permission has been granted from the School Office.

• Medical certificates should be supplied to the School Office if and when seeking permission to defer an exam in advance, contact [email protected] or 091 492612. All medical certs should be submitted to the School Office, and at the time of the student’s illness.

• If exams are deferred, complete degree results will not be available until after Autumn Repeat Exam Boards i.e. September, and from the Exams Office only.
