The dreaded e-mail from our office We are required to adjust aid back to the date of
last academic activity for students who disappear at some point during the semester and earn F’s.
We have 45 days to make the determination. If we do not receive a response from the e-mail,
we have to assume the student never attended. Once we make that assumption and adjust aid,
it is not always reversible if student later proves they attended class.
Aid versus Academics
We try to have students address their academic issues before they come to us with financial aid questions.
Students do not always do this and they are not always truthful with us.
When in doubt, we call the department.
