TO REGISTER FOR A CLASSTake our free money management course and start making sense of your finances today.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Key to Change is a six (6) session money management course. It provides the skills you need to make sound financial decisions for yourself and your family. Topics include:

• banking basics,

• budgeting,

• debt management,

• and investing.

Small classes ensure a supportive environment where you can gain smart money management skills and a real “key to change” your financial future.

Morning and evening classes are offered at Goodwill’s Milgard Work Opportunity Center located at 714 S. 27th Street. Classes are also held throughout Pierce and Thurston counties and in Yakima and Ellensburg.

You must pre-register for this course.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

• Goal Setting: Identifying your goals is the first step to financial planning and making your dreams reality. Discover why you spend money the way you do.

• Creating a Spending Plan: Identify your expense-to-income ratio, create your spending plan, and answer the question: What’s in it for me?

• Banking Basics & Managing Your Money: Learn about types of bank accounts, bank transactions, ATMs and how to overcome past banking problems. Also, how to organize your finances, and how to protect yourself from identity theft.

• Borrowing Money: Increase your credit IQ. Find out about credit cards, interest rates and the benefits of good credit. Learn more about homeownership and how to avoid predatory lending.

• Your Credit Report: Get a free copy of your credit report! Learn your credit score, how it is calculated and who sees it. Then, get strategies to improve your score.

• Insurance Planning & Investing in Yourself: Everything you need to know about insurance “language,” getting the best deal, and factors that affect rates. Learn about savings, retirement accounts, and investing 101.
