2016 Financial Risk Management Conference

Letter from the Chair Dear Colleagues, The Georgia Bankers Association’s Financial Risk Management Conference is the premier in-state conference for bank CFOs and bank financial management professionals in Georgia. It is designed to help you excel in your job. The current environment is volatile with good news today, mixed news tomorrow. Questions abound. What actions do I need to take today if rates rise? Will rates rise? Will rates stay flat? How can I prepare my bank for all scenarios? Where can I pick up some additional income? What is my next opportunity? What is my next obstacle? This year’s program continues a tradition of providing timely news, expert analysis and insight, technical details and hands-on resources to answer these questions and help bankers who face daily financial risk management challenges within their banks. The 1.5-day conference will be Nov. 16-17 at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest Hotel. As in past years, we will continue to provide enhanced value to our certified professionals. GBA is working to obtain certification of the GBA Financial Risk Management Conference as a recognized provider of continuing professional education programs by NASBA (the National Association of State Boards of Accounting). The availability of CPE credits, coupled with the accounting-friendly date of the conference, make this a must attend event. So what’s not to love about a conference with a program designed specifically for financial managers, a convenient location, professional education credits and networking with your peers? Please join me and your peers for this year’s conference. As Chair of this year’s Asset/Liability Committee, I would like to thank the entire Asset/Liability Committee for their efforts in planning this excellent program. I look forward to seeing you all in Atlanta soon. Sincerely, Martha E. Brown 2016-2017 Asset/Liability Committee Chair Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer
