Matthew – Matt was born and raised in the GTA and took up residence and education at UofT. Matthew brings a unique insight to the student experience, having been a transfer student, educated at a regional arts high school, and also served as a residence done for upper-year students. Matthew is an avid film nerd and singer, which creeps into his professional life.
Ian - Ian is originally from the Philippines and immigrated to Canada at the age of six. He is a University of Waterloo graduate who enjoys the Toronto city lifestyle. Now, he works with students across the country to help them find the right education and scholarship opportunities. Even after 15+ years, Ian still cannot stand the cold Canadian winters.

Scholarship FactsTerminology• Award: An award is given in recognition of outstanding
achievement. A monetary award is usually called a scholarship or bursary.
• Bursary: A non-repayable grant of money, bursaries are awarded primarily based on financial need, but academic achievement is also considered.
• Scholarship: A non-repayable sum of money awarded to a student.
• Entrance Award/Scholarship: Awarded to a student entering his/her first year at a post-secondary institution. Also referred to as an Admission Award.
• In-course Award/Scholarship: Awarded to students already enrolled in post-secondary studies, beyond the first year level.

the scholarship administrator for more details)– Academic Average (usually your last year of study
marks)
