Fine Art Connoisseur is a bi-monthly magazine that informs and inspires collectors of representational painting, sculpture, drawings, and prints, both historical and contemporary, particularly in the arena of realism and the academic tradition.

Our key objectives are to inspire collectors of art by highlighting role models worthy of their emulation, and to steer these collectors toward opportunities to acquire high-quality artworks “off the beaten track.” A key theme visible in every issue is the obvious connection between art of the past and art of the present; we believe that no artist works in a vacuum. We are particularly eager to shine light on lesser-known figures from the past who are worthy of study in their own right, and also for what their work might mean for artists and viewers living today.

The magazine was founded by publisher B. Eric Rhoads, whose com- pany, Streamline Publishing, is best known for its reinvention of Radio Ink magazine. Fine Art Connoisseur is edited by Peter Trippi, a scholar of 19th-century art and former director of the Dahesh Museum of Art in New York City. Peter Trippi
