Real World Applications of Math

Students in Intro to Algebra II used their knowledge of algebra in order to identify when, if ever, hybrid cars are more cost beneficial. They took into consideration different factors including gas mileage, miles driven, and the cost of gas. This project was part of a grant teachers Amy Quinn and Laura Mullen received from the NCTA. This grant gave the teachers access to the Mathalicious Website which includes many real world applications to the math they are learning in class. This project was supported by the Norwood County Teachers Associa-tion.
