With the Bravo Series, we have set a new standard for the beginners and students market. The rugged and musically versatile instruments in this series offer performance features which were up to now only available with considerably more expensive instruments. A good example is the Bravo’s incorporation of the T-keyboard mechanism, which offers outstanding playability and ease of service.

The Hohner project team was guided by the cooperation of accordion teachers and students alike on another important aspect: the instrument should be as light as possible, especially for the very young beginners. This requirement was met masterfully with what must be a record breaking 4.9 kg for the 48 bass accordions, and the larger instruments benefit as well from this feature. In addition, the exterior is very appealing: we offer the Bravo, depending on size, in up to 4 colours, matching the red bellows on all models.

Instead of a heavy case, a lightweight gig bag comes with the instruments, which can be carried by the children on their shoulders like a backpack. Perfect for short trips! Furthermore, the instrument comes with textile shoulder straps with added back strap, which can be quickly and precisely adjusted in height and length via the loop system.

All standard bass accordions of the Bravo and Nova Series, as well as the Amica in-struments, are equipped with the Hohner patented modular bass mechanism. This established technology combines maxi-mum playability and reliability with light weight design. It is very serviceable and can be repaired quickly by any experi-enced technician if needed.

MIII – Consistent from the start

The Bravo I 49F and the Nova I 49F complete our series of beginner’s instruments by being respectively each a Freebass and a Manual III-accordion. The development of both instruments was accomplished in close cooperation with leading accordion teachers having educa-tional musical requirements as the

main objective. For example, the tone range in treble and bass is fitting to the literature usually available for MIII education. The instruments were intentionally constructed without a tremolo voice.

The designers of the Bravo I 49F and the Nova I 49F paid particular attention to child oriented ergonomics. With nearly unrivalled low weight and extremely compact design they provide adolescent accordionists a definite ease of playing which allows them to concentrate on the joy of making music. The reed plates are all individually hand crafted.

Extremely detailed craftsmanship is necessary to mountand wax the reed plates as seen here.The final fine-tuning of the instrument is alwaysperformed by skilled technicians withthe reed blocks installed in the completed instrument.

Being multifunctional is one of the many strengths of our product line. Both button key accordions Nova II 60A and Nova II 80A were especially designed under the guidance of the internationally acclaimed French pedagogue Frédéric Deschamps, who established a worldwide unique education system for accordion. These two accordions offer key features that accommodate his particular demands, e.g., even the very compact 60-Bass accordion has 4 rows of buttons in the treble side. The register switch for the tremolo voice is behind the keyboard and can be easily activated with the thumb.

The keyboard is placed further to the front, as observed in professional button key accordions. This allows an ergonomically correct hand positioning while playing; especially players who place their thumb behind the keyboard as they have a lot of freedom of movement.

The bass strap of the small accordions is soft padded and comfortablyadjustable with a Velcro.

The Amica III 72 is a real accordion all-around talent and the successor of our legendary Concerto III T. From its predecessor the Amica III 72 inherits some valuable characteristics: the T-keyboard and the modular Hohner bass mechanism were adopted almost without changes, guaranteeing a very enjoyable playing experience. Our engineers couldn’t leave it without making some improvements, for example the use of a separate register slide channel plate under the reedblocks. This makes constructing the instrument more complicated, but endows sensible tone advantages and improves the instrument’s reliability.

Being really compact,the Amica III 72 is an idealinstrument for takingto lessons or playing at home.It consistently rewards its ownerwith the full sound of anauthentic Hohner Accordion.

Concertinas have always played a strong established role in the world of accordions. Because of their small size and light weight they are very popular with travelling musicians. They are also widely used in family music at home, and it is impressive what a great range of sounds these small instruments can produce.

We package all our concertinas in a padded gig bag for protection when travelling.

Diatonic instruments, which produce different notes when pulling or pushing the bellows, are the “archetypal” of the hand-harmonica and started their successful career in the 19th Century by providing a wide variety of musical styles. With time, specific regional traditions and preferences were formed, and are being continually expanded with specific models, e.g. the Corona models, which have their roots in Latin American music and Tex-Mex music. The instruments “Merlin” and Morgane” shown on these pages are highly regarded in the Gaelic and Breton music genre. We are proud to offer such a wide range of instruments!

Not only has Hohner made significant and continuing developments in design and production of the instruments, but the complete accessory line has been improved and optimized.

Our goal is to provide your Hohner instrument with a comfortable and safe accessory kit. That is why we have added a moulded hard case or a tear proof gig bag to several models, at no extra cost. The time is long past when a simple case made with wooden framing was used to store an accordion. Today one expects modern hard cases which can stand up to the kind of rough treatment from, for example, the luggage compartment of a bus. The Hohner accordion case provides an exactly moulded inner cushion to keep the instrument safe.

For easy transportation on flat surfaces, there is available an attachable trolley.

The outer skin of your gig bag is made of tear proof Cordura® and features multiple seams. It’s cushioned and stiffened so that your instrument can withstand substantial shocks. These bags also sport several additional features. From the 48-bass size on, the gigbags have a large pocket for sheet music, another for notepaper as well as pen pockets and a holder for a music stand.
