Three deer were released recently in a 70-acre nen al the conservation department 's Houghton Lake wildlife station to study' a number of color dyes. repellents and chemicals. Purpose oi the study is to learn if the chemicals can be used in forestry opera-tions without harming wildlife. The chemicals, il ieasible, will speed forestry operations and. by opening more forest grounds, will develop more food and habitat for game. Here, Al Harger biolo-gist at the station has just released one of the deer from, a live-trap Arlow Boyce in charge of deer research at the station, is preparing to release a second.
