The 17 year-old Kai Evans has agreed to give us the full inside gossip about what its like to

be a brand new celebrity. He has been noticed to be a ‘sick’ rapper from Jay Z on Twit-ter and is the closest earner to many of the rappers who have established their career by 30 .

Q: “Okay, Kai, I know all our fans are dying to know, how did you become famous?”

A: ‘Well, originally, I managed to persuade a record label to give me a part time job. You know, making tea’s and helping to arrange slots for the singers etcetera, and I ended up working there for quite a while cuz I was only like 14. So by the time I was about 16 the label wasnt really busy so I had my headphones in so loud, blasting the tunes ob-viously (laughs). Anyway, the rap part of the song came on and I was just doing my thing, you know, and I didnt realise one of the guys that signs all the major artists was in the next room listening in. I guess you could say I got a really, really lucky break. ‘

Q: “Oh wow that is a lucky break! You must have been pretty good to be signed at 16, I mean, your life must have changed dramatically?”

A: ‘Yeah definitely. Not many people at that age would get the chance I

got. It was pretty over whelming as well to be fair; I was such an average boy. Your typical minimum wage job with the perks of playing Xbox till 12. I havent changed much really! *laughing*

Q: “Do you think you’ll ever become used to being a celebrity?

A: ‘I’m sure I will in time, I mean, celebrities are all normal people at the end of the day - they all started somewhere ‘normal’ so I suppose i’ll always like the feeling of staying my normal self but I guess i’ll have to get used to paparazzi and stuff cuz that might take a while. I definitely wanna keep my old self though.’

Q: “So, do you think any other celebrities are like you, wanting to keep their old self and be true to who they are?”

A: ‘ Im not so sure, there are many friends i’ve made since travelling and going to places I normally wouldnt have access to but i’ve always had trust issues with friends - i’ve always really had one close mate. Im still best pals with him but new friends i’m sceptical, you dont like to think they might be taking advantage of you, you know what I mean?

Q: “Yeah, there’s always stories about celebrities who dont know who their true friends are, theyre usually half way through their ca-reer though. Some people might say its unusual for yourself at 17?”

A: ‘Yeah I know. Lots of the older celebrities at the moment seem to judge me before they’ve met me, obviously people dont follow my motto “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” I have a lot more common sense than people see me to have - especially the women in the indus-try. They dont judge me, they seem to assusme i’m something that i’m not. It’s normally in a compliment though so I dont mind!’ *laughs*

Q: “Do celebrities label each other like the public do?”

A: ‘What, you mean like harsh stereotypes? I remember them at school, and I havent got away from the bitchiness either, some women still get labelled as ‘gold diggers’ and stuff, so urm, yeah. To be honest though, from what i’ve seen so far, it’s not really that much of a common thing but it’s something that still goes on every now and then. Like every-day problems, even celebrities get stereotyped like that, that’s why I want someone to know me so bad before they judge me. Maybe that’s why the media annoys me so much!’

Q: “Well, It’s been really interesting to find more out about you. It’s a breath of fresh air to find an honest celebrity! Thanks Kai.”

A: ‘Thanks guys, cheers.’
