• ERP Integrator (ERPi) for Oracle Applications is a module of FDM that enables you to perform the following tasks: – Integrate metadata and data from an ERP source system into an

Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) target application – Drill through from the EPM target application and view data in

the ERP source system – Write-back budget data to the source system from any Oracle

Hyperion Planning, Oracle Essbase ASO, or Essbase BSO application.

• As a module of FDM, ERPi is the key application for seamlessly integrating ERP systems with Oracle's Hyperion EPM applications.

• ERPi fits within the Oracle EPM System architecture and is accessed through Oracle Hyperion EPM Workspace, which uses Oracle Hyperion Shared Services to authenticate users.

• The key to its integration lies within its underlying engine, which is Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

• ERPi sits on top of ODI and orchestrates the movement of data and metadata into Hyperion EPM applications.

Using ERPi and FDM Together to source from EBS






• ERPi can load data natively to EPM systems or it can use FDM for the mapping and loading, thus taking advantage of FDM’s core functionality. – Detailed audit trail – Ability to run consolidations, calculations after load – Check Report to validate data after loading – SOX Certification Process – Segregation of Mapping, Data Load – Nearly unlimited VBScripting available to create process

• Use ERPi to source data directly to source system and then FDM takes over the remainder of the process

Using ERPi and FDM Together





Example of Sourcing Data from EBS – Configure components for sourcing from EBS – ERPi/ODI connect to EBS to import data to FDM – Data imports to FDM location – Data is transformed using FDM’s mapping engine – Intersections are validated – Data is loaded and consolidated to the Target System (HFM)

Create Source System • These correspond to Instances of Oracle EBS and the

connection was created in ODI • These should only need to be changed or added if a new

instance is needed






Create Source Accounting Entities • These correspond to Sets of Books in Oracle EBS • These will need to be added for each Sets of Books data

you wish to import






Create Source Import Format • These usually tie to a Source System as each Import

Format references a Source System






Create Location • These usually tie to an Accounting Entity or sets of books






Create Data Load Rule • These will tie at least one to one with a location, though

you could have more data load rules for loading different types of data






Create Data Load Rule (cont.) • This has details such as type of amount, zero balances,

adjustment periods, periodic or YTD, etc.






Configure FDM – Install ERPi Adapter – Create Import Format – Create Location – Tag Location with parameters – Import Data






Import ERPi Adapter to FDM • This is where you tell FDM the ERPi information to source

the data from EBS • Contains options such as

– ERPi Database server – ERPi Schema – Generate Data File – ERPi user to run job






Create FDM Import Format • This is where you tell the FDM location to source data

from ERPi • Make sure it is an Adapter File Type and choose the ERPi

Adapter that you imported in the previous step






Create FDM Location • There needs to be an FDM location for every EBS sets of

books, which is one to one for an ERPi location • Each FDM location contains the mapping rules that

transform the data to load to the target system






Tag FDM Location • Each location needs to have at least an import format

and ERPi data load rule assigned to it






Import Data • FDM is now ready to import data from EBS via ERPi. • Set your FDM POV to where you wish to import data and

select Import. • This will run the ERPi Data Load Rule and submit data

• New Source System Integrations – Oracle Fusion Financials – JD Edwards General Ledger system – SAP ERP Financial (General Ledger,Profit Center,Cost Center)

– PeopleSoft Commitment Control






• Slowly, more and more FDM functionality is moving to ERPi, including the following in the 11.1.2.2 release – Flat file imports – Open Interface Adapter – Multi-Ledger Load per Location – Mapping imports/exports – Multi-Dimensional mapping – Data Load Workbench (Location By Location) – Batch Processing and Batch Scripts (BAT and Unix)






Flat File Imports – Import data from Delimited and Fixed Position text

files – Compatible with the FDM-Classic File Import Feature

• Similar Import Format • Supports all Expression (Fill,Sign,Factor,etc) • Supports Skip rows • Import Scripts & Excel Not Supported*

– Load multiple periods in single period. Separate file for each period






Flat File Imports (cont.)






Open Interface Adapter – Load data from any system with Open Interface table – Ideal feature for loading data from GL systems without

packaged adapters or Sub-Ledgers – Up to 30 data columns can be populated in addition to

standard columns: Currency, Amount, Year, Period – Can load the open interface using any tool including

ODI by customizing the Open Interface Adapter – ODI License would be required to extract from custom

sources*






Multi-Ledger Load per Location – New Feature to create Accounting Entity Group by

grouping Multiple EBS Ledgers or PeopleSoft Business Units

– Data Load Rules can be specified / run with Accounting Entity Group

– Data relating to all the Ledgers / Business Units can be loaded in one extraction.

– Time-saving in scenarios where, extraction is required from large number of Ledgers / Business Units






Mapping Imports/Exports – Allows user to maintain mappings externally (Excel) – Supports Member Mapping import from CSV file – Target members can be optionally validated during

import – Supports merge and replace mode – Mapping format similar to what is used in FDM

• Like mapping source values includes *: 5*, 500 • Between mapping source values includes >: 500>599, 500 • Explicit mapping list source and target: 1000, CASH

Multi-Dimensional Mapping – Used to derive Target dimension value based on

combination of multiple source dimension values – Each source mapping can be Explicit, Between, Like – Example: Target Account A5000 needs to analyze the

following: • Source Accounts that start with a 1 or 2 • Source Entity that is E1 • Source Department that are D01 or D02

Batch Processing – Scripts to execute metadata and data rules from

command line – Scripts are Windows BAT and Unix Shell scripts – Scripts accept all the parameters exposed the rule

execution period – Can use these scripts to create batch loads – To schedule loads from any scheduler






Batch Processing (cont.) – This is an alternative to using Web Services. Web
