Cadet Applicants,

Thank you for your interest in the Harford County High School Cadet Program. As you

know by now, this program is an excellent that provide you with exceptional careertraining while you earn free college credits. It is important to know that this will be a

competitive application process and some applicants will not be accepted into the

program. The information accompanying this application will help guide you through the

application process affording you the best opportunity to successfully secure a Cadet position.

The application is designed to identify and accept the best possible Cadet candidates.

The instruction and coarse work Cadets will experience is rigorous and demandingrequiring students that clearly demonstrate diligence, positive attitudes, and critical

thinking. Each applicant will have the chance to showcase their abilities during the

following phases of the application process:

Submitted Application: Be sure to completely fill out the attached

application and return it as directed. Applications must be received NOLATER THAN 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

Candidate Interview: All applicants, along with a parent (guardian) will

meet with the program coordinator to thoroughly to discuss how theapplicant believes he/she represents the desired traits and qualities of a

successful Cadet.

Written Response: All applicants will write a response to a prompt

provided in the application paperwork. This response should cohesively

and coherently address any and all parts of the prompt.

School Records Review: Applicants will be evaluated on elements of

their educational performance including but not limited to grades,

attendance, teacher recommendations, etc.

All applicants will be notified regarding the outcome of their application on Monday June

1, 2015. Additional instructions and arrangements for selected Cadets will be provided atthat time.
