Most known is FM200® i Identified as HFC227 from the internationalstandards as agent tor total flooding applications.The product is safe for humans, ecologic, and compatible with the ozonelayer.

In fact, its ODP = 0 and NFPA classify it as safe for total flooding applicationeven in presence of humans when used in the proper concentationsuggested by the standards NFPA 2001 and further updates.Concentration normally requested is 8%, means 633 gr/mc at 20°C.Does not leave residue, ideal to protect high value equipment such as inmuseum, banks, EDP computer servers, switching rooms, archives, etc....EPA, Environments Protection Agency and NFPA recognize it as one of mostefficient substitutes of halon 1301 available.It is chemically very stable, and having a low ALT of 36 years it is accepted allover the world.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRADE1. PRICES and TERMS

The goods shall be purchased or quoted on these Terms and Conditions andat prices prevailing at the order date. These Terms and Conditions shallprevail unless varied in writing.

2. TERMS OF PAYMENT1. Payment shall be either; by L/C irr and confirmed, or T/T in advance,

unless prior written agreement. Deposit is requested for non standardmaterials.

2. If payment is not received by the due date, then the Company may refusedelivery of further goods and stop further credit facilities.

3. The Customer will pay all collection and legal costs actually incurred bythe Company (including actual solicitor/client costs) that are related to thecollection or recovery of any unpaid account.

3. INTERESTPayments not made on due date may, at the Company’s sole discretion, bearinterest from the date of the invoice at the rate of 2% per month until paid (orat such rate as shall be in force at the date of purchase).

4. CREDIT LIMITThe Company may cancel orders in respect of any undelivered goods or maywith hold delivery of future orders if the Customer’s account exceeds thecredit terms set by the Company.

5. NON RECEIPT OR DAMAGEAll goods must be checked on receipt as to quantity and/or damage.Discrepancies on quantity, weight or damage must be reported by theCustomer to both the Carrier and the Company within 3 days from the date ofdelivery, otherwise the claim may be rejected by the Company. The Companywill replace goods covered by approved claims, and transport cost at sameconditions of original order.

6. RETURNED GOODSNo goods shall be returned for credit without the Company’s prior writtenapproval.

7. CLAIMSAll claims regarding goods supplied or allegations regarding goods nothaving been supplied as per invoice/packing slip shall be made within 3 daysof delivery of the goods and in the absence of any claim the Customer shallbe deemed to have accepted the terms of the invoices as correct and acceptthat the goods specified are as delivered.

8. CLAIMS RETURN POLICY1. Goods supplied in error are returnable for replacement or credit, providing

the error is notified to the Company in writing within 3 days of delivery.2. No claim will be recognised unless the goods are returned with the

original invoice/packing slip, or the number and date of the invoice/packing slip are enclosed.

3. No claim will be recognised unless the returned goods are in sealeable,undamaged and clean condition, and in the original packaging, completewith detachable accessories and instruction manuals.

4. The Company may at its sole discretion accept the return of goodssurplus to the requirements of the Customer in which event the credit maynot exceed 75% of the original amount charged for those goods.

9. RISK AND DELIVERYRisk passes to the Customer on delivery of the goods. Delivery shall bedeemed complete when the Company gives possession of the goods directlyto the Customer, or possession of the goods is given to a carrier, courier, orother bailee for the purposes of transmission to the Customer.

10. WARRANTY1. Except as provided in the European Communities rules, and by the

manufacturer’s written warranty (if any) the Company makes norepresentation, condition, warranty or promise, express or implied, inrespect of goods supplied to the Customer.

2. Except as provided in the European Communities rules, the Companyshall not be liable for any loss of any kind whatsoever suffered by theCustomer as a result of a breach of any of the Company’s obligationsregarding the supply of goods or any negligence on the part of theCompany, its servants, agents or contractors, nor shall the Company beliable for any loss damage or injury caused to the Customer’s servants,agents, contractors, customers or other persons. The Customer willindemnify the Company against any claim by such persons.

3. The liability of the Company arising from a breach of any of theCompany’s obligations regarding the supply of goods, or from anynegligence on the Company’s part, its servants, agents or contractors will be limited to damages which will not exceed the price of the goodssupplied.

4. Where the Customer purchases goods for a particular purpose, it is theCustomer’s sole responsibility to ensure that the goods will be suitablefor the Customer’s purpose, and the Company shall have no liabilitywhatsoever in the event that the goods are not fit for the Customer’spurpose, notwithstanding any statements made to the Customer by theCompany or its officers or employees.

11. OWNERSHIP1. Ownership reserved: It is expressly agreed that ownership is reserved

and legal and equitable title to and property in all goods supplied by theCompany is and remains vested in the Company until payment in fullhas been received by the Company.

2. Recovery of Goods: The Company may at any time before sale of anygoods by the Customer recover and take repossession of such goodsand otherwise exercise in relation to those goods any of its rights wherethose rights are also covered by common law, contract, statute or in anyother way.

12. PRIVACY ACT1. The Customer authorises the Company:(a) To collect and retain and use personal information about the Customer

(the information contained in this document) for the following:(i) Assessing the Customer’s credit worthiness.(ii) Administering the financing, whether directly or indirectly of theCustomer

contracts(s) and enforcing the Company’s rights thereunder.(iii) Marketing goods and services provided by the Company.(b) To provide the information:(i) to any person for the foregoing purposes(ii) to employees and agents of the Company and any other person, in the

ordinary course of business, for any of the foregoing purposes(iii) to credit agencies for the purpose of maintaining effective credit records.2. The Customer acknowledges:(a) that the information is held by the Company at the address specified in

this document, notwithstanding that it may also be held elsewhere by theCompany and other persons for the purposes described above.

(b) that where information can be readily retrieved the Customer shall haveaccess to it, the right to request correction and the right to be notified ofaction taken in response to any such request, subject to payment ofany reasonable charge.

(c) that the aforesaid authorisations are irrevocable.

13. PERSONAL GUARANTEE OF COMPANY DIRECTORS OR TRUSTEESIf the Customer is a company or trust, the director(s) or trustee(s) signingthis contract, in consideration of the Company agreeing to supply goods andgrant credit to the Customer at their request, also sign this contract in theirpersonal capacity and jointly and severally personally undertake as principaldebtors to the Company the payment of any and all monies now or hereafterowed by the Customer to the Company and indemnify the Company againstnon-payment by the Customer.Any personal liability of a signatory here to shall not exclude the Customerin any way whatsoever from the liabilities and obligations contained in thiscontract.The signatories and Customer shall be jointly and severally liable under theterms and conditions of this contract and for payment of all sums duehereunder.

14. VALIDITY.If a term or condition herein is held by a Court to be unenforceable then suchterm or condition shall be severed from all other terms and conditionswithout affecting the enforceability of those other terms and conditions.

15 Jurisdiction:Any dispute concerning these conditions will be competent the court ofMilan Italy.

Extinguishant Advantages Disadvantages Extinguishing method

Water fire extinguishers are good for tackling class Afires involving burning wood, paper, textiles andgeneral combustible materials. They don’t contain anyharmful chemicals or residual agents and they arekind to the environment. As water fire extinguishersare cleaner than other extinguishing agents, they are agood choice for assisting in the emergency egressfrom a building when cited along escape routes where,for example, a powder extinguishing agent could enterthe eyes of the user due to forward movement into thepowder residue or other factor.

The downside is that they are strictly for class A useonly and can make the fire worse or be verydangerous to the user if used on the other classes offire.For example, water conducts electricity and therebypresents a risk of electrocution to the user, so this typeof fire extinguisher must never be used on liveelectrical equipment.In addition, burning oils and water most definitely donot mix and can create an explosion or fireball!

Water fire extinguishers work bycooling and quenching a fire, therebyabsorbing heat from the fire andreducing its temperature below thecritical level needed to sustain the fire.

ABC Dry Powder fire extinguishers are amulti-purpose and highly effective extinguishingagent, making them an excellent choice for use inmost circumstances.They are ideal for use in warehouse and factoryenvironments and other areas where the considerableadvantages offered by their effectiveness andmulti-purpose application outweigh the disadvantageof their residual properties.

The downside is that they leave a fine powder residue,making the clean-up process of small fires moreproblematical, and causing damage to sensitiveelectronic equipment that the mono-ammoniumphosphate extinguishing agent comes into contactwith.For this reason, they should not be used incontaminant-sensitive environments such as officesor food preparation areas, etc.

ABC Dry Powder fire extinguisherswork by fusing particles of blendedammonium phosphate and ammoniumsulphate powder over a fire to form abarrier that starves it of oxygen andpreventsre-ignition, and acts to knockdown afire.

Foam extinguishers are especially suitable for class Bflammable liquid fires such as paints, thinners, petrol,and oil spills. Foam is also very effective on class Afires such as man-made furnishings. They have ahigher class A fire rating per litre than their watercounterparts and can therefore be more lightweightand portable, making them a good choice for an officefire extinguisher.

Cannot be used on domestic chip or fat pan fires. Foam fire extinguishers work bycovering a fire with a film of foam thatstarves it of oxygen and prevents re-ignition, in addition to penetratingabsorbent materials and having coolingand quenching properties due to thewater content.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers are safe foruse on electrical appliances and are non-residual,making them ideal for use in office environmentswhere sensitive computer equipment would bedamaged by using other types of extinguishing agents.

As CO2 does not cool the fire very well, there is a riskof the fire re-igniting.Fumes from CO2 extinguishers can be harmful if usedin confined spaces.The horn freezes during discharge, so care must betaken not to touch it.

CO2 fire extinguishers work bydisplacing oxygen at the source of thefire with an inert gas, thereby starvingthe fire of the oxygen that is essential tothe combustion process.They also have some cooling properties.

Clean agent (Clean Green, Clean Blue, Foxer S) fireextinguishers are safe for use on electrical appliancesand are non-residual, making them ideal for use inoffice environments where sensitive computerequipment would be damaged by using other types ofextinguishing agents.Do not leave residues, and is safe for humans andanimals.

MaintenanceThere does not exist one Standard valid in all European countries.Italian Standard 9994 is the most restrictive rule existing in Europe,requiring service every 6 months, while in most countries it is onceper year, or every 2 years. Here below are some good suggestions:SurvellianceVisual inspection of correct position and installation: every day.MaintenanceMust be made by an authorized technician. Series of control andmaintenance with purpose to ensure the correct functionality of theextinguisher. Inspection of pressure, weight, integrity of all components.RefillingMust be made when the extinguisher has been used even partially.When the gauge shows low pressure, and needle is in the red area, orweight is less than recorded in the service card.DisposalMust be made according to regulations in the customers own country.CO2 carbon dioxide and Halogenated FOXER do NOT need to bechanged, they never change their properties when stored in the fireextinguisher.

Dry powder: in England it is a requirement to make a discharge testevery 5 years. In Germany discharge, check for impurities or caking, andrefill after filtering, these are requirements different in other countries.A good rule is check at least every 2 years. If the powder appears fine,with a good fluidity and smoothness, without any caking, that means itschemical and physical properties are intact, and it is still good to be used.Generally a good powder manufactured and approved according toEN615, kept in sealed fire extinguishers, within temperature-30°C + 60°C will not change its chemical and physical properties.Replace the powder if it starts caking and has low fluidity.Foam: when it is a premixed solution it is a good rule to change andrecharge with fresh solution every 3 / 5 years, check the instructions ofthe manufacturer.When the foam compound is sealed in a plastic cartridge and not incontact with sunlight and water, validity is at least 5 years. Follow theinstructions of the manufacturer.Test: Hydraulic test of cylinder, the rule valid in all Europe is every 12years. For cylinders produced with CE PED mark. CO2 cylinders with CEPED or T-PED mark every 10 years.

Maintenance of Portable fire extinguishers

The choice of portable fire extinguishers should be determined accordingto class of fire and the level of risk in the workplace.The number and capacity of portable fire extinguishers depends on therisk, and laws in force in respective countries.Generally risk can be: Low, Medium, High.The chart below is a good guide, but the law in force in the respectivecountries may be significantly different.Install at least 1 fire extinguisher in each floor of the house.Always install in a visible position and easy to be used, fixed in a wall, witha sign on top.Distance between extinguisher should never more than 30 mt.

Choice and number of extinguishers

A good suggestion: only a very good trained operator can achieve the rateof the fire class shown in the extinguisher. It is suggested to always buy abigger size, with higher quality raw material.

Unless used simultaneously, by 2 operators, 2 extinguishers of 6 kg, haveless result than 1 of 12 kg. The medium and high risk areas, trolley and orfoam mobile units, must be considered.
