    to SIR Building and mending the make shift

    store to sell news of the day. Several cars

    were waiting to drop off passengers and staffs

    at drop-off point.

    Scenario 1 (Fire In Pantry)

    The hustle and blasting noise of the cars at

    busy Kallang Road with crowded passenger

    and commuters waiting for the bus during the

    morning rush hour. Maintenance personnel

    and security officer were carrying out theirroutine morning checks and security in the

    building. The weather was good with bright

    morning sunshine and gusty wind.

    breakfast. She left to the rest room for a

    while. Judy returns to the pantry to pick herbreakfast. Bang!!!! A very loud explosion,

    the microwave catches fire. There was a

    blackout.

    At level 9 Susan found that the door handle of

    the meeting room is faulty and she reported

    accordingly. Upon the 2nd stage of alarm,

    Desmond and Susan hurriedly wanting toleave the meeting room to evacuate.

    Unfortunately the door handle was dislodged

    and the door cannot be opened. They weretrapped inside the room and they shouted for

    help.

    The bomb threat is a serious public nuisance

    of modern times. The problem can be

    minimised by proper planning and

    nomination of appropriate decision makingauthorities. SIRB is visited by an average of

    3000 public daily and we are very vulnerable

    to bomb threat and others.

    and stringent. Eg. Locking device, burglary

    alarm, door security restricting public

    access / searching customer or clients are

    some form of security to look into. Good

    explosive device to be planted undetected.
