HILTI FIRESTOP SOLUTIONS PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE PROTECTION IN ALL KINDS OF CONDITIONS. • Firestop regulations, life safety and fire containment
• Fire protection systems can save lives and contain damage to a building during a fire.
• They’re also a code requirement
• Passive fire protection systems are designed to impede the spread of flames, smoke andtoxic gases in a fire.
• They help block gaps in walls, ceilings and floors caused by penetrations from pipes, cables and joints in fire-rated areas.
• So it’s important to include passive fire protection – firestop systems – in any building design, right from the start of a project.
ENGINEERING JUDGMENTSNo matter how many firestop systems there are, you’ll always encounter a unique condition that requires unconventional thinking. When there’s no tested and approved solution for a special opening or penetration through a fire-rated assembly, trust our firestop team. Your needs will be assessed and we will then do what it takes to help you design a comprehensive fire protection program—from custom drawings to expert engineering judgments and beyond.

IMPROVING LIFE SAFETY & FIRE PROTECTIONFrom its inception, Thermafiber, Inc. (an Owens Corning company), has been dedicated to improving life safety and fire protection by manufacturing mineral wool insulation for commercial, residential and industrial applications. Today, Thermafiber mineral wool resists fire and temperatures in excess of 2,000˚ F while also providing sound control and energy conservation.
Our mineral wool contains a minimum of 70% recycled content, it’s non-combustible, inorganic and mold-resistant. Thermafiber is the #1 specified brand of commercial mineral wool.
THERMAFIBER SAFING: MINERAL WOOL INSULATION Thermafiber® Safing mineral wool insulation products are designed to provide enhanced fire protection in perimeter fire containment systems, floor and wall penetrations, construction joints, and other firestopping applications. These products are non-combustible, moisture-resistant, non-corrosive, nondeteriorating, mildew-resistant and vermin-resistant. Thermafiber® Safing provides thermal insulation, fire containment, and enhanced acoustical performance in many different UL and Intertek (formerly OPL) listed fire containment assemblies of 1, 2, and 3-hr ratings.
THERMAFIBER INDUSTRIAL FELTThermafiber Industrial Felt is an economical mineral fiber board for thermal, fire protection, and sound control applications. The fine-fiber, semi-rigid composition makes industrial felt easy to handle. It is available from 2.5 pcf to 12.0 pcf density along with many different facing options if needed. The wide range of densities make Thermafiber felt adaptable for industrial applications in a broad scope of low or high temperature applications. These products adsorb less than 1% moisture, are vermin-proof and mold resistant. On initial start-up only, heat rise should not exceed 15ºF per minute to allow binder to dissipate without excessive temperature rise. Thermal conductivity is not affected.

FyreWrap Elite 1.5 Duct Insulation Air Distribution System (ADS) offers the following features:1- and 2-hour fire-rated enclosure (3 hour available)Alternate to fire-rated shaftZero clearance to combustibles at all locations on blanket wrapSaves weight, space, laborThin, lightweight single-layer systemHigh-temperature, biosoluble insulationDurable foil-scrim coveringGREENGUARD listed for Microbial Resistance
FYREWRAP® ELITE® 1.5 DUCT INSULATIONUnifrax’s FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 Duct Insulation is a single layer flexible duct wrap enclosure for 1- and 2-hour fire-rated air distribution systems (ADS ducts). Typical duct types include smoke control, hazardous exhaust, laboratory chemical fume, stairwell and vestibule pressurization, ventilation, supply/return ducts, commercial dryer exhaust, as well as refuse and linen chutes. This slim, compact design is an alternate to code prescribed fire-rated shafts and results in significant weight, space and labor savings when compared to traditional shafts.
GREASE EXHAUST DUCTSUnifrax’s FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 Duct Insulation is a two-layer flexible enclosure for two-hour rated commercial kitchen grease ducts. This flexible fire protection duct wrap meets the requirements defined by the International Mechanical Code (IMC), Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 96), and is an alternative traditional fire-rated shaftwall enclosure around ducts.
FYREWRAP® 0.5 PLENUM INSULATIONFyreWrap 0.5 Plenum Insulation offers an alternative to complete combustible item replacement, often resulting in significant cost and time savings. It is a high temperature single-layer insulation blanket that is used to wrap the combustible items in the plenum area. It is an alternative to removal and replacement of the combustible item with compliant non-combustible versions by preventing flame propagation and smoke development in the plenum area.
