Ferguson racked up another late model feature win on Saturday, June 9, at 191 Speedway in Ha-zel Green, where he again beat Brandon Fouts for the second consecutive week.
Ferguson (#13) and Fouts (#81) once again dominated in the absence of Derek Fisher (#38), of Olympia, whose me-chanical woes have prevented him from competing in several feature events this season.
Henry Lawson (#L13), of West Liberty, finished fourth in his second late model feature race.
Keith “Jabber” Gray (#4) won his second consecutive open wheel modified feature, while Reggie Ritchie (#4) and Tony Fletcher (#72) claimed wins in the bomber and modi-fied four-cylinder classes.
Stock four-cylinder com-petitors observed the annual Kenny King Memorial, which saw Bryson Patton (#7B) and Bryce Maynard (#32) as win-ners in two features.

Firetruck big hit with 5th gradersThe fifth grade students at Morgan Central Elementary School recently enjoyed a fun filled day of surprises arranged by their teachers: Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Harper, and Mrs. Day. The biggest surprise came when Jamie Phipps brought the fire truck to hose the students down. The teachers said it was great to see the children laughing and having fun. A special thank you to Jamie Phipps of the West Liberty Fire Department.
Morehead Inspiration Cen-ter, a long-term peer-led re-covery program facilitated by Pathways Inc., would like to thank the ladies and gentlemen from Gateway Community Ac-tion for helping with the Life Skills portion of our program. Gateway and MIC partnered to to give thre participants certain skills in money management and budgeting, parenting, and being better fathers. While here, several members of Gateway took a tour of the facility and participated in Community. They had this to say:
Justin Wells, Job Coach and Facilitator: “I feel very fortunate to have received the privilege to work with such a diverse and interesting group of gentlemen. It has certainly changed any ideas about those with a background of addiction, and I feel as if my life is much richer for having met these men. I challenge everyone to learn more about the life-chang-ing work taking place at the Morehead Inspiration Center.”
Angie Elliott, Case Man-ager for the Healthy Marriage Program, stated: “I wish more people would take the time to stop and visit the Inspiration Center in Morehead. It was a great experience to meet these guys and get to know them. It was an eye-opening experience for me. I now have a better
understanding of working with people that struggle with addic-tion. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful facility this close to home.”
Beth Howard, Case Manag-er, of the Fatherhood Program, said: “Addiction is something that touches almost everyone’s lives at some point. I know it has touched mine. However, through my work at the Inspira-tion Center and in working with these gentlemen, not only was I able to teach and encourage them, but I was able to find some healing and understand-ing about the ways addiction has touched my family and my life. I am so full of gratitude for the Inspiration Center. My life is richer for having worked there.”
Gateway Community Ac-tion provides these and many other services to the public and organizations. If interested, or if you have questions, contact them at 606-743-3133.
Frankie Spencer, Adminis-trator, Liaison/Community Ed-ucator for Morehead Inspiration Center, extends an invitation to anyone to stop by for a tour and participate in Community.
