Drive Thru History (with Dave Stotts) tells the story of Jesus from the locations recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Dave travels to over 50 ancient sites in Israel to deliver the Gospels in a fresh way, show the evidence for the truth of scripture, and encourage families to get excited about reading the Bible again. Join Ralph Troutman for this incredible journey. COUPLES: Pastor Travis and Jenna will lead The Meaning of Marriage, a class starting September 14 at 6:15PM, in The Loft. This class is for married people of all ages, for those who are engaged, and those who have an interest in being married some day. It is highly encouraged that you order Tim Keller’s book, The Meaning of Marriage, as additional reading for the class. The companion workbook, The Meaning of Marriage will be used each week to help in discussion time. Both of these books may be ordered from Amazon. This is a seven week class. WOMEN: Sandra Troutman will lead a new study, Ephesians, beginning Tuesday, September 13, at 9:30AM, in C322. Nine segments (all under 15 minutes) of the Word with vivid cinematography will stimulate your senses. The class includes additional commentary from Warren Wiersbe’s book on Ephesians, plus discussion time. No additional book purchase required ... bring your Bible. Encounter Ephesians and revitalize your spiritual life. A women’s Bible study meets weekly on Thursdays at 1PM. Where I Am, by Billy Graham, is the focus of this study. In Where I Am, Mr. Graham shares what the Bible has to say about eternity from all of its sixty-six books; all gleaned by a man who would like to be remembered solely as a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This group meets in C322.

    From Your Pastor

Are you ready for fall? It’s getting darker a little earlier in the evenings, and it won’t be long before the trees begin to change color. Football is also in full swing now! Fall is one of my favorite times of the year!

Wednesday Night DiscipleshipWe also have tons of great stuff happening this fall at FBG! Don’t miss our new offering of classes on Wednesday night during our Bible Study hour. Terry Cathey

will lead the adults in the fellowship hall for the month of September, and Wert Campbell will lead during October. Furthermore, Ralph Troutman will lead Drive Thru History: The Gospels starting September 7.

Most of us can use a little “tune-up” in our marriage! Jenna and I will lead a class based on Tim and Kathy Keller’s book, The Meaning of Marriage. Use this class as a way to invite someone who is not connected to a church. You don’t have to be married to attend. As I have said previously, I highly encourage you to purchase the book, The Meaning of Marriage. At the minimum, you will need to purchase the workbook, The Meaning of Marriage, which we will use in our class time. The class begins on Wednesday, September 14th @ 6:15 PM in the loft. If you haven’t signed up for the class just yet, please contact Angela Govan so we can be prepared for our first class.

RenewI want to personally thank Pastor Derrick Jackson, who pastors First Baptist on Winchester, for coming to speak to us for our last Renew service. It was a great dialogue and time of hearing the story from the pastor of our sister church right here in Gallatin. Moreover, thank you Renew Band for a great night of worship.

Even still, I want to thank each person who participated in buying tennis shoes for the children of Guild Elementary for our last Renew service. The focus for our next Renew service in September is disaster relief for the flood victims of Louisiana. We will collect gift cards to places like Home Depot and Lowe’s to make sure that folks have a chance to purchase things to help in the rebuilding of their home.

New MembersFinally, we welcome all of the new members who have joined in the last several weeks! If you are not sure who all has joined, note their pictures in this newsletter. Also, be sure to introduce yourself to them when you see them at church.

It’s Time to RenewAs a way of constantly preparing for future Starting Strong events, we are enrolled again in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. We appreciate those who have participated in the program for the past two years. You are required to renew your commitment to the rewards program by logging on your Kroger account, clicking the “Community” tab, clicking the
