Following is a wonderful thank you
sent to the Cowboy Bell Committee
that we want to share with you:
“Dear 1st United Methodist Church and Cowboy Bell Committee,
I was graciously awarded the Cowboy Bell Scholarship for the 2017-2018 school year, I am immensely blessed in receiving the Cowboy Bell Scholarship two years in a row. The Cowboy Bell Scholarship is important to me because it allows me the opportunity to put the worry of financial struggles out of mind so I can be fully committed to my studies without the stresses of working and balancing school. Thank you again for awarding the Cowboy Bell Scholarship to me and allowing me the opportunity to continue my education at NMSU.
I am currently enrolled in the college of ACES, studying Animal Science, with a per-sonal interest and focus on cattle production. I plan on pursuing my interests in cattle production in hopes to one day either manage a feedlot operation or work alongside a local ranch as a foreman and cattle production specialist. My goal for the future is to take my passion for agriculture and use it to better the world, feed the ever-growing population and ultimately leave the fire burning for agriculture in the young minds of our young population.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you again for awarding me the Cow-boy Bell Scholarship. By being awarded this scholarship you have allowed me to lighten my load and be able to excel and achieve my full potential this academic year without the worries of where my financial support was going to come from. I am blessed and thankful for all that Cowboy Bell has done for me thus far.
Kind regards,
Justus Haefner”
Church Family,
In Worship this Sunday, we prayed for the communities along the Gulf Coast affected by Hurricane Harvey. Some of you have already asked about what the United Methodist Church is doing to help and how we might participate. This morning, our Methodist Men vot-ed to send $100 to UMCOR, The
United Methodist Committee On Relief. If you are not familiar with it, UMCOR is the disaster relief agency of our church. The have been involved in helping with almost every natural disaster for the past 30 years. Unlike the Red Cross, and most other relief agencies, UMCOR uses 100% of contributions directly for the need. They use other funding to cover administrative overhead. If you can make a contribution, follow this link directly to the UMCOR website and click on the tab that says DONATE. You may also put a check in the collection plate and we will get it there.
