Principal’s ReportWelcome Back I hope everyone has had a relaxing summer break and are ready to start a very busy year. We have lots of things planned for this year, so keep an eye out on the Skoolbag App and newsletter for updates.2018 has started with increased enrollments, new classes and new teachers. We have 17 Mainstream and 3 Support Classes. We welcome Mrs Chesson, Mrs Bush and Mrs Bower to our teaching staff. There has also been teacher movement between classes with Mrs Phan and Mrs Wall joining infants.

Swimming Carnival Next week we will be holding our annual Swimming Carnival at the Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre. Please see the permission notes that were handed out last week.

We have developed the South Stars Program where students can collect rewards for doing the right thing. They are collected and placed in the South Rocket which builds up to a whole school reward. If a student is put on detention, parents are called by a School Executive to explain what has happened and a letter is sent home. Kindergarten ClassesThis year we have approximately 60 students enrolled in Kindergarten. We have begun the Best Start Assessment and will be working on class placements over the next week or so. There may be changes to some students classes and we are hoping to minimalise the impact of this. Parents will be informed as these changes are made. Thank you for your patience.

No Hat No PlayThe decision has been made that if students do not have a broad brimmed hat they cannot play out on the playground. They are to play under the cover of the COLA. This will take a bit of adjustment as we did say last year that they could play in the shade up on the playground. If your child does not have a broad brimmed hat you can purchase one from the canteen for $10.00.
