STEWARDSHIP FROM THIS WEEKS GOSPELIn today’s gospel, we hear the humble

confession of the good thief, a confession that brought him mercy, forgiveness and favor by the Lord.

What can his humility teach those who seek to live humble lives, like St. Clare

or St. Francis of Assisi?

Today’s Communion Antiphon

The Lord will bestow his bounty,

and our earth shall yield its increase.(Psalm 85 (84):13)

Matthew 22:37-40: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. The second resembles it; love

your neighbor as yourself.”

To live in gratitude requires genuine spiritual

maturity, the kind that is cultivated by prayer,

participation in the sacraments, loving attention

to family and one’s communion of faith, and

love for one’s neighbor. Are we prepared for the

Lord’s second coming?

Stewardship in the Gospel

STEWARDSHIP FROM THIS WEEKS GOSPEL

Stay awake! For you do not know on which day your

Lord will come. Be sure of this: if the master of the

househad known the hour of night when the

thief was coming,he would have stayed awake

and not let his house be broken into.So too, you also must be prepared,

for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”

To you, I lift up my soul, O my God.

In you, I have trusted; let me not be put to

shame. Nor let my enemies exult over me;

and let none who hope in you be put to shame.

(Cf. Psalm 25 (24):1-3)

From Today’s Mass

Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is

not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
