Good Governance in Grassroots Sport (GGGS) is a transnational project that in-creases organizational capacity for good governance by focusing on transparency and accountability, particularly at the grass-roots sport association level.

The GGGS project has designed a European non-formal education for “Good Governance in Grassroots Sport”, targeting organization-al top leaders. It is designed to be !exible and simple. It is not a prescriptive approach to governance and as such it does not pro-vide a detailed breakdown or a checklist of what is needed. It provides content to GGGS

principles recognised by GGGS Project part-ners and further aspects of key importance for grassroots sport organisations. The edu-cation includes 3 events, each connected to one of 3 main topics:

Focus on policy - Developing leadership by understanding context in grassroots sport associations

Focus on people - Developing leadership by building capacity in grassroots sport associations

Focus on process - Developing leadership through monitoring compliance in grass-roots sport associations

The focus is on o"ering an education which raises the important questions, allows inter-activity to #nd answers, discover existing good examples, discuss dilemmas and to develop “self-assessment” tool for good gov-ernance in grassroots sport.

The participants should take part in all three trainings to bene!t fully of the edu-cation.

First Training has its own general topic connected to the GGGS Principles de#ned and design by GGGS Project partners.

This general topic is connected to Gover-nance principle “Inclusivity - Stakeholder involvement in decision making” and has 3 subtopics:

Strategic vision and direction

Above subtopics will be thoroughly de-scribed and discussed during the Training.

will identify key elements of GGGS in this #eld.

will describe steps for the successful im-plementation of good governance based on the existing good examples

All participants will be invited to make spe-cial “homework” before the event. GGGS team will provide purposes for learning, content/text, dilemma, means to study and a larger question. This will activate partici-pants` background knowledge and experi-ence that will be relevant to learning. We will get in touch with you before the train-ing to discuss expectations and training ob-jectives before we meet in September.

Plenary Session: “FOCUS ON POLICY $ DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP BY UNDERSTANDING CONTEXT”

Inclusiveness in the representation of interested stakeholders means that grassroots sport orga-nizations should enable a broad range of groups to be involved in decision making processes. This includes the involvement of underrepresented groups in decisions, the access of these groups to activities, and the inclusion of external stakeholders in decision-making processes. The organization should be able to identify underrepresented groups and create pathways for their involvement

What kind of model/approach, that helps organization in identifying and analyzing stake-holders, do we know?Who are speci#ed (six) key stakeholder groups? (members, employees, business partners, communities, investors and the environment) Who are our own stakeholders? Do we know their power, in!uence and interest?
