The famous Green Light of Daisy’s dock, which represents Gatsby’s desire and the American Dream. Gatsby’s mansion represents the “Nouveau Riche” of West Egg & his efforts to regain Daisy through his lush parties. Here is where most of the color symbol- ism appears. The Valley of Ashes which symbol- izes the decay of American society with George Wilson and the other “ash grey men.” Tom and Daisy Buchanan are typ- ical of those in East Egg who are “Old Money.” This house is one of their many residences. Gatsby’s yellow car is not only the weapon in killing Myrtle, but a symbol of os- tentatious wealth due to its golden color.
