springer.com ABC Fixed Point Theory and Applications Special Issue on Variational Analysis and Fixed Point Theory: Dedicated to Prof. W. Takahashi on the occasion of his 70th birthday This Special Issue is in honor of Professor Wataru Takashi on the occasion of his 70th birthday. Professor Wataru Takahashi received his PhD from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1971. His thesis was entitled “Fixed Point Theory for Amenable Semigroups of Various Transformations” and it contained excellent results. Since then, Prof. Takahashi has continued his work in fixed point theory and nonlinear analysis. He has established significant results, published in more than 300 research papers in prestigious journals. He has delivered keynote talks in several international conferences and workshops. He is currently serving as a member of the editorial board of many well known journals in fixed point theory and nonlinear analysis. It is remarkable to note that Prof. Takahashi has supervised more than 50 PhD students in the past 40 years. In the last two decades, the theory of variational analysis with its relation to fixed point theory has emerged as a rapidly growing area of research because of its applications in nonlinear analysis, optimization, economics, game theory, and so on. In the recent past, many authors devoted their attention to study the existence of solutions of variational inequalities, split feasibility problems and fixed point problems. The iterative methods for finding the approximate solutions of variational problems, fixed point problems and split feasibility problems are also studied. Very recently, several iterative methods have been investigated to solve the variational inequality problems in such a way that the solutions of these problems are the fixed points of some operators. The aim of this Special Issue is to promote research and its applications in the area of variational analysis, optimization theory, split feasibility problems, fixed point problems and Ekeland’s variational principle, and so on. Research articles, including but not limited to the topics below, are welcomed: CALL FOR PAPERS 7 Variational Analysis including 7 Variational Inequalities 7 Optimization Theory 7 Fixed Point Theory 7 Ekeland’s Variational Principle

Fixed Point Theory and ApplicationsSpecial Issue onVariational Analysis and Fixed Point Theory: Dedicated to Prof. W. Takahashi on the occasion of his 70th birthday

This Special Issue is in honor of Professor Wataru Takashi on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

Research articles, including but not limited to the topics below, are welcomed:

Submission InstructionsBefore submission authors should carefully read over the Instructions for Authors, which are locatedat fixedpointtheoryandapplications.com/authors/instructions. Prospective authors should submitan electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the SpringerOpen submission system atfixedpointtheoryandapplications.com/manuscript according to the submission schedule. They shouldspecify the manuscript as a submission to the Special Issue on “Variational Analysis and Fixed Point Theory: Dedicated to Prof. W. Takahashi on the occasion of his 70th birthday” in the cover letter. All submissions will undergo initial screening by the Guest Editors for fit to the theme of the Special Issue and prospects for successfully negotiating the review process.

Please note:

Submissions to Special Issues on this journal are entitled to a 50% discount on the article processing charges, unless otherwise stated. To receive this discount, authors should mention the Special Issue within the “waiver request” box on the ‘Payment’ screen during submission of their manuscript.
