liable to be strictly penalized. Please ensure that your son / ward does notbring with him to School a mobile phone. In case he does, and is caught,
he will be expelled immediately and no excuses will be entertained. Pocket

With regard to breaks the following may please be noted:
(a) The school year is divided approximately into three terms i.e. March to May (Spring Term);
J une to August (Summer Term); September to November (Autumn Term). At the end of the first
term and the Old Cottonians Week, there is a break. Please refer to the Fixture Card to knowwhen the children will be allowed to depart from school.
(b) The school curriculum includes short excursions / tours / treks and an apprenticeship program
run by the Careers Club of the School. The latter is meant for classes IX to XII and it is expected
that every boy would have participated in at least two such programs during his time in school.
(c) Home travel for family ceremonies, functions, marriages etc. is normally not permitted.
These should conform to the school vacation periods whenever they occur and winter (December,
J anuary and February). Kindly note that your son / ward must have a 75% attendance to sit for
each of the terminal examinations failing which, he will not be allowed to take the tests due to theshortage of attendance. This conforms to what is expected by the Council for the Indian School
Certificate Examination.
(d) The second Saturday of certain months is a visiting Saturday and parents / guardians that
intend to take their child / ward out on overnight leave / exeat are expected to send in their
requests stating so, at least a week in advance of the date, failing which no leave / exeat will be
granted.
These rules override those published elsewhere previously. Requests for late return to
school after a break / holiday will not be accepted / entertained.
It may further be noted that parents / guardians are expected to make their own arrangements
for their sons / wards to travel back home for the winter vacation in November / December.
All parents are written to by their sons / wards once a week. All parents must also reciprocate bywriting to their children regularly. This is an important communication skill and sharing exercise.
Please insist on conformity. While the boys have access to e-mail and can book time at the
Schools Internet Browsing Centre, letter writing is compulsory. Similarly they must receive yourletters by regular post too.
